This document describes the Z BOX-C All-in-One ESS Cabinet, a liquid-cooled outdoor energy storage system designed for managing energy demand and facilitating timely energy storage and release.
Function Description
The Z BOX-C is an electrical energy management system for outdoor use, capable of storing and releasing electrical energy. It serves as core equipment, integrating a 105kW/215kWh liquid-cooled outdoor energy storage cabinet with monitoring software for energy dispatch. This integration allows it to manage user-side energy demand and control the energy storage site comprehensively. The system receives commands from an energy dispatch system and interacts with the energy network and user loads to meet energy needs.

Usage Features
Installation:
- Layout: Requires a 600mm space behind the cabinet for heat dissipation.
- Cable Layout: AC power and communication cables should run through cable trenches at the bottom of the cabinet.
- Power Supply: An external UPS is recommended for backup power to the EMU and firefighting system. AC power cables should be copper-core, with cross-sectional area adapted to the load, and buried or laid in casing, separated from signal cables. AWG #16 cable is recommended for AC220V UPS power supply. AWG #1 power cable is recommended for AC400V (A/B/C) and AWG #4 for N/PE. Category 6 network cables are recommended. AWG #4 AC400V cable is recommended for grounding the cabinet shell.
- Safety Protection: Includes lightning and surge protection, complying with national/ministerial standards. Ground cables (AWG #4) must be reliably grounded.
- Lifting: The cabinet is lifted using four rings, with the rope angle greater than 60° at a height of 800mm. Lifting capacity must be ≥3T.
- Handling: Forklift handling is preferred, with a fork length (A) greater than 1.5m and a capacity of at least 3t. Forks must extend out of the forklift holes.
- Base: Requires a 1499*1444mm planar space with M12 anchor bolts embedded.
- Electrical Connection: AC lead-in wire connects from the user's distribution switch to PCS input terminals (A/B/C/N). Distribution office must have overcurrent, short circuit, and lightning protection. Cables must be correctly phased (yellow, green, red for A, B, C; light blue for neutral). AC power cables should be separate from communication cables. Terminal screws for PCS input require 18-22 N.M torque, and PE grounding stud requires 8-10 N.M.
- Communication Cable Wiring: Network cables for EMU and EP-E300 (for FFR) are routed through waterproof connectors.
- UPS Cable Wiring: UPS power supply cable connects to the cabinet through a waterproof connector at the lower part of the UPS terminal, with a wiring torque of 0.8-1.0 N.M.
Powering On/Off:
- Power-on:
- Confirm external 400V AC power access; PCS power indicator lights up.
- Close QF1 and QF2 circuit breaker switches (and QF3 if external UPS is connected).
- Close the disconnecting switch (SWTICH) of the Upper High-voltage Box.
- Press the secondary circuit power button of the high-voltage box; the button indicator red light and front door operation status indicator light turn on.
- Power-off:
- Set the cabinet to standby status, stop charging/discharging.
- Disconnect external circuit breakers (including auxiliary power supply or UPS).
- Press the control power button on the DC high-voltage box; the red indicator turns off.
- Emergency Stop:
- Confirm fire alarm (Level 3 fault L6).
- Squeeze or break the emergency stop button panel.
- Press the emergency stop button.
Operational Status Indicator:
- Off: Abnormal power supply to indicator board.
- White (Always on): Abnormal communication of indicator board.
- Green (Always on): Standby.
- Green (Breathing): Charge (2s/time).
- Blue (Breathing): Discharge (2s/time).
- Flowing flash: System self-test (about 2min).
- Yellow (On-off flash): Level 1 alarm (liquid cooling, PCS, BMS, fire control, low/high SOC, total/single cell over/under voltage).
- Red (Always on): Emergency stop fault, hardware fault.
- Red (On-off flash): Level 3 fault (liquid cooling system, PCS, BMS, fire protection, fire alarm).
- Tips: During Level 1 alarm (L2), Level 2 alarm (L2), and Level 3 fault (L3), the liquid cooling system may be in heating mode, with duration depending on ambient temperature.
