Instruction Manual
Thank you for your purchase of this quality Zojirushi product. We are confident that it will give you top
performance and optimum satisfaction for many years. To ensure this, please read and follow the important
guidelines below.
Important Safeguards:
This product is for storing and keeping foods hot or cold. Do not use for
other than intended purposes.
Please follow these instructions to prevent spoiling of foods, discoloration or damage to the product and to avoid
scalds and injuries.
Keep out of reach
of infants and
small children.
Allow foods to cool before placing in the side bowl(s).
Closing the lid with hot foods inside may cause the lid
to deform and contents to spill.
Please follow these instructions when using the microwave:
Always remove the lid from the inner bowls before
microwaving, and do to microwave the outer container.
The lids and outer container are not microwaveable.
Do not use the convection oven feature of a convection
microwave or do not microwave immediately after using
the convection oven feature.
Do not microwave the inner bowls with nothing inside.
Do not microwave foods with excessive oil or sugar for
an extended period of time.
Do not remove the sticker on the bottom of the lunch jar.
Do not leave food in the lunch jar for an extended period
of time for it may spoil.
Do not place foods directly inside the outer container to
prevent from rusting.
Do not store foods that spoil easily such as dairy
products.
Please avoid storing liquids in the main bowl or side
bowl(s) for it may spill.
Do not leave the lunch jar on its side (contents may spill).
Do not disassemble the outer body.
Clean the inside of the outer container immediately if
contents spill. May cause rust or other damages.
Do not store rice cooked with additional ingredients and
seasonings such as mixed rice or fried rice.
Warnings and Cautions:
Do not carry by the outer lid.
Wash the inner bowls, chopsticks and chopsticks holder before use.
Place the inner bowls in the following order: Soup BowlMain BowlSide Bowl(s)
Avoid rough handling, dropping or bumping the lunch jar. Damage to the plastic or stainless steel surface of the lunch jar
may reduce its ability to retain heat.
Foods with strong odors or colors such as sauces, spinach and carrots
should be wrapped in plastic wrap or foil before placing in the inner bowl.
Keep the bag in a well ventilated area
when not in use.
Consume foods within 6 hours to keep foods from spoiling, and do not leave leftovers inside. Leftover contents may spoil.
Placing hot soup in the soup bowl may make the soup bowl
inner lid difficult to remove. In this case, use a small object
such as a toothpick to push the valve packing (on the center
of the soup bowl inner lid) through the hole to release
pressure. Make sure not to tear the valve packing.
Do not put hot food and cold food
in the main bowl, soup bowl and
side bowl(s), or hot food and cold
food in one bowl at the same time
(contents may spoil).
Do not rub the design on the outside of
the lunch jar strongly.
(For lunch jars with bags) Do not wash the bag in the washing machine or
soak in water. Doing so may damage the material.
The rattling noise that may be heard when the outer body is shaken comes from the copper or aluminum foil in the
vacuum insulation to increase heat (cold) retention and does not indicate a malfunction.
How to Take Care of Your Lunch Jar:
Always clean all parts thoroughly after each use.
Outer Lid, Main Bowl, Side
Bowl Set, Soup Bowl Set,
Chopstick Holder, Chopsticks
Wash with warm water and mild dishwashing liquid, rinse and dry.
Detach and wash the gasket and valve after each use, and remember to attach them.
Remove lid while drying.
Outer Container, Main Bowl
Inner Lid
Wash with warm water and mild dishwashing liquid, rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not soak.
Remove carrying straps before washing.
Carrying Strap, Bag
Wipe with a soft cloth with warm water and mild dishwashing liquid.
When storing for a long period of time, wash thoroughly with warm water, dry well and store in a cool, dry place.
Do not boil any part (except soup bowl) to sanitize.
Do not use a dishwasher of dish-dryer.
Do not clean with thinner, benzene, abrasive cleaners or other harsh cleaners.
Do not use chlorine type bleach.
For Odor Problems:
If the lunch jar is kept unwashed for a long period of time or is not cleaned thoroughly, it may smell or discolor. In this
case, please follow these instructions.
Outer Container, Main Bowl
Set, Side Bowl Set(s)
Wash thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth, place in the sun and let dry for 1-2 hours.
Soup Bowl
Boil the soup bowl for 2-3 minutes in hot water and dry as directed above.
Replacement Parts:
We take care in only using materials that are safe and hygienic for food contact. However, if plastic parts become
damaged or its surface becomes rough, please replace them for optimum performance. The stopper and gaskets may
need to be replaced due to time and wear. Please check them about once a year. When replacing parts, please record
the model number and part name beforehand. Then contact either the store where you purchased the product or Zojirushi
Customer Service. Replacement parts may be available for an additional charge.
