    • Install the seats in the recommended arrangement.
  3. Fin and Paddle Installation:
    • Install the fin.
    • Assemble and install the paddles.

Preparation before departure:

  • Safety Knowledge: Users must understand local laws, regulations, and hazards associated with water sports and inflatable kayak operations.
  • Weather Check: Always check local weather forecasts, currents, tides, and wind conditions before use, and only paddle in calm conditions.
  • Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs): Regardless of weather conditions, PFDs in good condition and compliant with local laws and regulations must be worn.
  • Self-Assistance Methods: Learn basic safety self-help methods, such as how to flip the kayak over and re-enter it.
  • Communication: Inform someone of your planned return time.
  • Passenger Briefing: Ensure all passengers understand the basic operation of the inflatable kayak.
  • Emergency Preparedness: At least one passenger should be capable of operating the inflatable kayak in an emergency.
  • Appropriate Attire and Supplies: Wear suitable clothing (helmets, shoes, sunscreen), carry sufficient water, food, towing cables, and any other legally required items.

Safety Warnings: The manual emphasizes several critical safety warnings:

  • This is not a life-saving device and should only be used under competent supervision.
  • Never dive from the kayak, leave it unattended in water, or tow it from a vehicle.
  • Adult assembly and operation are required.
  • Over-inflation can cause chambers to burst or damage welded seams, leading to capsizing or drowning.
  • Taking a kayaking safety course and hands-on training is highly recommended.
  • A PFD is required for each passenger, especially children and non-swimmers, who also need special instruction.
  • Step carefully into the center of the kayak for maximum stability. Distribute weight evenly to prevent capsizing.
  • Do not use the kayak if a puncture or leak is suspected.
  • Beware of offshore winds and currents, as these can create unsafe conditions.
  • Operators are responsible for identifying and obeying all local and state laws regarding kayak safety and equipment.
  • Never allow unattended children in the kayak; a responsible adult must supervise all children and non-swimmers.
  • Maintain proper safety equipment in an easily accessible place and clearly display emergency phone numbers and safety advisories.
  • Do not exceed the maximum number of persons or total weight specified on the kayak, as this can cause capsizing and drowning.
  • Avoid contact with household cleaning solvents, chemicals, battery acid, oil, and petrol, as these can damage the PVC fabric. Inspect for leaks and structural integrity after any spills.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safety of the ZRAY TORTUGA kayak:

Post-Use Cleaning and Storage:

  1. After each use, clean the inflatable kayak to prevent damage from sand, saltwater, or sunlight.
  2. Use a soft detergent and water for cleaning.
  3. Do not use solvents like gasoline, as they can corrode the kayak's surface materials or plastic parts.
  4. Ensure the hull is completely cleaned and dry before storage to prevent mold growth.
  5. Once deflated, fold the kayak, place it in the backpack, and store it in a dry, ventilated place above 15°C.

Repair: The provided repair kit can be used for small holes or punctures:

  1. Do not inflate the kayak.
  2. Wipe the hull with soap and water to locate holes (soap will bubble over the hole).
  3. Clean the area around the hole with water or alcohol.
  4. Use a pencil to sketch the outline of the patch.
  5. Cut a patch of suitable size.
  6. Apply glue evenly to the damaged area and the patch, then press and hold the patch onto the damaged area.
  7. Allow the kayak to sit for at least 24 hours (or more) before inflating it again.

Valve Replacement: Instructions are provided for replacing a damaged valve, ensuring the kayak remains functional. The visual guide shows how to remove and install a new valve, emphasizing the importance of proper sealing.
