MDI
Medium Dependent Interface, a port of another device connected to an
Ethernet port as the receiving end
MDI-X
Medium Dependent Interface Cross-over
Router
A device at the network layer, located above the MAC layer where bridge
or L2 switch works, makes decision on forwarding and filtering according
to the network layer information
SNMP
Simple Network Management Protocol, which provides a method to
manage, monitor and control TCP/IP network
TCP/IP
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, the most well-known
protocols of network interconnection. It is originally an UNIX standard,
and now supports almost all platforms and Internet protocols.
Telnet
TCP/IP request protocol provided to virtual terminal equipment, which
allows users to log in other computers and access another device.
