TECHNICAL MANUAL

5.3 IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE
Maintenance of a Proceptor unit is critical to ensure that separation eciency is not compromised. The buildup of floatables
and solids within the separator reduces the potential treatment volume and could, therefore, reduce the water retention time
within the separator resulting in reduced separation eciency. Furthermore, if contaminants are allowed to accumulate, the
maximum storage capacities may be exceeded, resulting in the release of previously captured oil, grease, and solids.
5.4 MAINTENANCE FREQUENCY
The frequency of maintenance depends on the application and the model of the Proceptor. Some applications have very little
oil, grease and/or solids in the waste stream and, therefore, reaching the maximum storage capacities will take a longer period
of time. For other applications, the maximum storage capacities will be reached in a shorter period of time. Maintenance
should be performed when the storage capacity reaches 50% or annually, whichever comes first.
The following table describes when maintenance should be performed on the various standard Proceptor models.
