GS-105B/GS-108B is a 5/8-Port desktop switch with plug-and-play capability. With the
Nway auto-negotiation function, the GS-105B/GS-108B connects network counterparts
with highest possible network speed and activates duplex mode automatically. You can
easily connect networked devices such as PCs, network storages and print servers to the
network without any manual configuration.
Energy saving via link status and cable length detection
GS-105B/GS-108B compliant with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard
provides power-saving benefits without compromising performance. GS-105B/GS-108B
automatically reduces power usage when it detects any shut down network device or
inactive link. That is the power consumption of GS-105B/GS-108B adjusts according to
the number of active network devices.
The GS-105B/GS-108B can also detect the length of connected Ethernet cables and
adjust power usage accordingly. The shorter the Ethernet cable length, the less power it
consumes.
