Testing
Beforemountingthedetector,ensurethatthePIRmountinglocation
providesgoodRFcommunicationtothepanel.Toverify,dothefollowing:
1 FromtheInstallerToolbox,selectwalktest.
2 PlacetheamagnetoverthearrowontheleftsideofthePIR,(the
detector’sLEDindicatesthatamagnethasbeendetected)andthen
removethemagnet(amagnetisnotsupplied).
3 PlacethePIRinthelocationthatyouplanonmountingit.
4 MoveintheareathatistobecoveredbythePIRandmakesurethat
theLEDonthePIRflasheseverytimeyoumove.TheLEDflashing
continuesfor1minutesoyoucancheckthePIRbeamcoverage.
NOTE: Thereisa3seconddelaybetweenflashesontheLED.
IMPORTANT: Thefollowingcancauseafalsealarmwhentesting:
•Leavingthecoveroff
•Removingjumpers
PositioningthePIRindirectsunlightorcloseproximitytoaheatingor
anairconditioningduct
5 Exitinstallertoolbox.
Inserting and Replacing Batteries
IfasupervisedPIRbatteryislow,alowbatterynotificationisindicatedon
theControlPanel stouchscreen.Ifindicated,replacethebattery
immediately.Useonlytherecommendedreplacementbatteries(See
Specifications).
•Removebackcoverbyunscrewingbottomscrewandpullbackcover
frombottomtotop.Observethepolarityofthebat
tery.SeeFigure2.
WARNING: Improperhandlingoflithiumbatteriesmayresultinheat
generation,explosionorfire,resultinginpersonalinjuries.
Replaceonlywiththesameorequivalenttypeofbatteryas
recommendedbythemanufacturer(seeSpecifications).
Batteriesmustnotberecharged,disassembledordisposedofinfire.
Disposalofusedbatteriesmustbemadeinac
cordancewiththe
wasterecoveryandrecyclingregulationsinyourarea.KeepAway
FromSmallChildren.Ifbatteriesareswallowed,promptlyseek
medicalattention.

Installing and Mounting
RemovethescrewfromthebottomofthecaseandopenthePIR(see
Figure1).
1 Installthe3VLithiumbatteryfromthebox.
2 Settheleftjumper(PETIMMUNITY)toeither33lbs.(15kg)or55lbs.
(25kg;default).(seeFigure2)
3 Settherightjumper(SENSITIVITY)toeitherLO(default)orHI(see
Figure2).
4 Pressandreleasethetamperswitchtobeginthepowerupprocess.
5 Wait10secondsforthePIRtofullypowerup.
