DHCP Relay
Configuration
DHCP relay configuration is described in the followng sections:
Configuring the IP address for the DHCP server
Configuring the DHCP Server Group for the VLAN Interfaces
Configuring the User Address Entry for the DHCP Server Group
Enabling/Disabling the DHCP Security Feature on the VLAN interface
Note:
After you have configured DHCP Relay, the Switch automatically configure
UDP-Helper whether the Switch is a single unit or in a fabric. The UDP-Helper
configuration remains when you remove the DHCP Relay configuration.
If you remove UDP-Helper configuration when the DHCP Relay configuration
still remains, the Switch will display the following prompt
This may result in
DHCP Relay errors
, and you will need to confirm if you really want to remove
the UDP-Helper configuration.
Configuring the IP address for the DHCP server
You can configure a master and a backup DHCP server, which are in the same
DHCP server group, in the same network segment to ensure reliability.
Perform the following configuration in System View.
By default, no IP address is configured for the DHCP server.
Note that you must configure an IP address for the backup DHCP server together
with that of the master server.
Configuring the DHCP Server Group for the VLAN Interfaces
Perform the following configuration in VLAN Interface View.
By default, no DHCP server corresponds to VLAN interfaces.
When associating a VLAN interface to a new DHCP server group, you can
configure the association without disassociating it from the previous group.
