Friction
Parking Position
The welding helmet has two adjustment knobs, with two different functions, working independent of
one another. The right side knob is for the friction adjustment when raising and lowering the helmet.
Turning the right side knob clockwise will increase the friction when raising or lowering the helmet
in normal welding operations. See “Parking Position” section for adjustment and operation of the left
pivot knob.
The welding helmet has two adjustment knobs, with two different functions, working independent
of one another. The left side knob adjusts the holding force for the “parking position” for when the
helmet would remain in the raised position during extended set-up operations, or other tasks. Turning
the left knob clockwise increases the holding force of the parking position.
Note: Over-tightening the left knob will cause the parking position to not function properly. See
“Friction” section for adjustment and operation of the right pivot knob.
