  • Brake System: Electronic braking system (standard on dual axle Workman XL only) with a brake controller allowing adjustment of time delay and power intensity. Manual brake shoe adjustment is also possible.

Usage Features

  • Dump Bed: The trailer features a dump bed operated by an electric actuator, allowing for easy unloading of materials. The actuator's piston end has a limit switch to prevent bottoming out.
  • Tailgate Positions: The tailgate offers four positions:
    1. Closed Tailgate (all 4 pins connected)
    2. Open Bed (all 4 pins removed)
    3. Dump Position (top 2 pins connected, bottom two released)
    4. Fold Down Tailgate (top 2 pins released, bottom two connected, similar to a pickup truck tailgate)
  • Brake Controller: Allows operators to adjust the time delay and power intensity of the trailer brakes, enhancing control and safety. Red indicator lights on the controller show the applied stopping power.
  • Rocker Switch: Included for mounting on the tow vehicle handlebar, controlling the running lights and stop lights.
  • Off-Road Use: The trailer is designed exclusively for off-road use and should not be towed on highways or public thoroughfares.
  • Load Distribution: Emphasizes proper distribution of loads front-to-rear, side-to-side, and maintaining a low center of gravity to ensure stability and prevent tire overload.

Maintenance Features

  • Wheels and Hubs: Bearings in the idler axle hubs require greasing every 12 months and before long periods of storage, using a multipurpose grease. Grease zerks are located on the back side of each hub.
  • Bed Rest Pivot Bushings: Bushings in each strut to pivot the bed rest frame should be greased monthly and before long periods of storage, using a multipurpose grease. Grease zerks are located on both struts.
  • Ball Hitch: Requires spray lithium grease as needed.
  • Tires: Weekly inspection of tire pressure is recommended. Maintain 3-5 psi. Replace cracked or damaged tires.
  • Lug Nuts: Check tightness on a new trailer and after wheel remounting (first 10, 25, and 50 miles of use), and before each subsequent use.
  • Tail/Brake Lights: Regular checks for proper functioning are necessary. Replace burned-out bulbs as needed.
  • Electric Brakes: (If applicable) Check for proper functioning by operating the brake controller on the tow vehicle before each use. Repair brakes if not functioning properly.
  • Trailer Cleaning: Routine cleaning with mild dish soap and water is recommended. If used for hauling manure, clean after every use and do not store manure in the trailer bed.
  • Brake Shoe Manual Adjustments: Over time, brake shoes may require manual adjustment. This involves removing a plastic cap from the brake hub and using a brake spoon or screwdriver to spin the adjuster teeth to expand or contract the brake pads.
  • Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes regular safety checks, proper storage, and adherence to operating instructions to prevent accidents and ensure longevity of the equipment. This includes securing the implement with support blocks when stored and ensuring all guards and shields are in place during operation.
