What to do if Abit AN8 SLI Motherboard system hangs when updating BIOS?

If your Abit Motherboard system hangs when updating the BIOS or setting wrong CPU parameters, always clear the CMOS jumper before booting up again. If this does not help, switch off the power supply unit, wait one minute, and switch it on again. Press and hold the key while pressing the power-on button to boot the system. Alternatively, change the jumper position from the default 1-2 to 2-3 for one minute to discharge the CMOS data, then return it to the 1-2 position. As another option, pull out the ATX power connectors from the motherboard and remove the button battery during CMOS discharge.
