Function Description:

The primary function of the TerryPhone TP-02 is to provide standard analog landline telephone communication. It supports both handset and speakerphone modes for making and receiving calls. A key feature is its SOS dialing capability, which allows users to quickly contact pre-programmed emergency numbers. The phone also includes memory picture keys for one-touch dialing of frequently called contacts, making it accessible for users who prefer visual cues over number recall.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: The phone operates with a DC-5V power input, requiring an AC-DC adapter (Output 5V 1A (Min 100mA)) for the SOS remote control functionality.
  • SOS Button Lifespan: The SOS button is rated for 200,000 presses, indicating durability for frequent use.
  • SOS Range: The SOS remote control has a range of up to 20 meters.
  • Ringer Volume: Adjustable (HI/LO).

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The phone is designed for placement on a level surface or can be wall-mounted. For wall mounting, a plastic tab beneath the earpiece cradle needs to be reversed to secure the handset.
  • Basic Calling:
    • Receiving a Call: Pick up the handset or press the SPEAKER button. The SOS remote button can also answer calls in speakerphone mode.
    • Ending a Call: Pick up the handset or press the SPEAKER button.
    • Handsfree Function: Press the SPEAKER button to dial and talk via speakerphone. Press again to end the call.
  • Memory Keys:
    • Picture Keys (6): Users can insert pictures of contacts for one-touch dialing. To store a number: pick up the handset, press STORE for 3-4 seconds (long beep), input the number, press STORE for 1 second (short beep), press the desired PICTURE BUTTON, and replace the handset. To make a call: pick up the handset and press the picture/one-touch memory key.
    • Two-Touch Memories (10, locations 0-9): To store a number: pick up the handset, press STORE for 3-4 seconds (long beep), input the number, press STORE for 1 second (short beep), press the desired Memory location (0-9), and replace the handset. To make a call: pick up the handset, press STORE for 1 second (short beep), and press the desired Memory Location (0-9).
  • SOS Dialing:
    • Activation: In an emergency, press the SOS remote or the red SOS button on the phone base. This switches the phone to speaker mode and dials the 6 stored emergency numbers in a loop.
    • Emergency Message: The receiving party hears a recorded message: "THIS IS AN EMERGENCY CALL, TO ACCEPT THIS CALL, PRESS NINE."
    • Loop Dialing: Continues until the call is answered (Max 30 loops).
    • Requirement: SOS function requires the DC adapter power supply.
    • Control: SOS mode can be switched ON/OFF using a switch on the front of the phone base (default is ON).
  • Redial Last Number: Pick up the handset and press the REDIAL key to automatically dial the last number.
  • Muting/Hold on Music: During a call, press the HOLD button to play music to the other party, preventing them from hearing you. Press HOLD again to resume the call.
  • Flash Button: Used to hang up and make a new call when an engaged tone or wrong number is encountered. Also used for switching between calls.
  • Volume Boost: Press the button with the rocket icon to increase handset and speaker volumes. Press again to return to normal volume.
  • Call Indicator: A flashing light indicates an incoming call.

Maintenance Features:

  • Troubleshooting:
    • No Function: Unplug and reconnect all cords.
    • No Ringing or Dial Tone: Check connections between the base unit and wall socket, and between the handset and base unit. Verify the telephone line with another device.
    • One Ring Only/Broken Line: Check if the base unit is connected via a multiple connector box with other devices. Remove parallel units on the same line if present.
    • SOS Emergency Dialing Not Working: Check if the SOS switch is ON, DC adapter and power supply are normal, and the SOS button LED lights up when pressed (check/replace batteries if not).
  • Factory Reset: Pick up the handset or press the speaker button. Press and hold the FLASH key for 3 seconds until a long 'beep' is heard. Enter the code *#06# and press the FLASH key again. A long beep will confirm that all settings and stored memories have been reset.
  • Cleaning: Unplug the phone before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • General Safety: Do not use the phone when wet. Do not place near a bathtub or shower. Do not open the equipment.
  • Disposal: The device should be collected separately from regular household waste for recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Consult local authorities for proper disposal points.
