Step 1: Battery Removal Preparation

Turn the Chromebook over and unscrew the sixteen 5mm Phillips screws around the border and two in the center.

Step 2: Remove Back Cover

Carefully pry open the back cover using an iFixit Opening Tool and set it aside.

Step 3: Disconnect Battery Wires

Using a spudger, carefully unplug the rainbow wires connected to the top of the battery.

Step 4: Unscrew Battery Retaining Screw

Unscrew the 4mm Phillips #1 screw located at the top right of the battery.

Step 5: Remove Battery

Remove the battery from the Chromebook.

Step 6: Locate and Unscrew Solid-State Drive

Remove the screw located to the left of the solid-state drive.

Step 7: Remove Solid-State Drive

Gently pull the solid-state drive to the left to remove it.
