Overview

This document describes the ACOPOWER Double Open Rechargeable Solar Car Freezer, a portable refrigeration unit designed for outdoor and mobile use. It combines the functionality of a freezer with a built-in portable power station, offering versatile power and charging options.

Function Description

The ACOPOWER Solar Car Freezer serves as a portable refrigerator and freezer, capable of cooling down to -20°C. Its primary function is to keep food and beverages chilled or frozen, making it ideal for camping, road trips, and other outdoor activities. A key feature is its integrated portable power station, which allows for independent operation and also serves as a power source for other small electronic devices via a USB output. The unit can be charged through multiple methods, including solar panels, a car cigarette lighter, and a standard wall outlet, providing flexibility in various environments. The "double open" design likely refers to its ability to be accessed from multiple points or its dual-zone functionality, though the manual primarily focuses on a single temperature setting.

Usage Features

The freezer is designed for ease of use and portability. It features a robust DC compressor and conversion module, ensuring high efficiency and a long lifespan, complemented by compressor delay protection. Users can quickly cool the unit to desired temperatures, with a rapid cooling capability to -15°C in approximately 20 minutes (at 25°C ambient temperature). Achieving freezing temperatures with a full load may take up to 8 hours, so pre-cooling is recommended.

Temperature control is electronic and displayed on an LCD, allowing adjustments from -20°C to 20°C. Users can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The unit offers two cooling modes: MAX for high efficiency (recommended for initial cool-down) and ECO for energy conservation once the desired temperature is reached.

An intelligent car battery protection system is integrated, offering three levels (H, M, L) to prevent draining the vehicle's battery. The 'H' setting is recommended when connected to a car, while 'L' is suitable when powered by the freezer's internal battery or an auxiliary backup battery.

The built-in portable power station (13000mA/14.8V Lithium Ion, 193Wh total) provides significant operational independence. It can be charged in three ways: via solar panel (12V-30V), a 12V/24VDC car port, or a 100-240VAC wall adapter. The power station can be charged independently or simultaneously while powering the refrigerator. It also functions as a backup power source (UPS) to keep the refrigerator running off-grid. A USB output (5VDC/2.1A) is available for charging mobile phones, tablets, or other small USB-powered devices.

For enhanced portability, the unit is equipped with a trolley and wheels, and features a removable lid for easy access and cleaning. Additional accessories like storage pouches and a bottle holder further improve its utility.

The freezer also supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to control and monitor the unit via a smartphone app ("SolarFreezer"). The app provides access to settings such as temperature display, voltage, battery capacity, cooling mode (ECO/Lock), and the ability to turn the machine on/off. It also includes advanced settings for maximum/minimum temperature, language, and device renaming.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the ACOPOWER Solar Car Freezer. The manual provides clear guidelines for care and cleaning, as well as troubleshooting common issues.

Defrosting is necessary when frost accumulates on the inner surfaces, as this can reduce refrigerating efficiency and increase power consumption. The recommended method involves unplugging the unit, opening the doors, removing food, and using a defrosting shovel or allowing the ice to thaw naturally. After thawing, the ice water should be wiped away with a dishtowel. It is explicitly warned not to use sharp metal tools for defrosting to avoid damaging the refrigerator.

For general cleaning, the unit should be unplugged and the portable power station turned off. Inner and outer surfaces can be wiped with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a neutral detergent, then dried with a soft cloth. Electrical parts should only be wiped with a dry cloth. Harsh cleansers containing corrosive or deliquescent materials (e.g., scouring powder, bleach, benzene, gasoline, acid) should be avoided, as they can damage the appearance panels, door gaskets, and metal parts. Water should not be sprinkled directly on the refrigerator during cleaning to prevent damage to electrical components and erosion of metal parts.

For long periods of inactivity, it is advised to remove all food, unplug the refrigerator, clean it, and leave the doors slightly open in a well-ventilated area.

Troubleshooting information is provided for common issues such as the appliance not working (checking power station switch, connections, and power mode), food freezing (temperature set too low), and error codes (F1 for low power, F2 for fan overload, F3 for compressor protection, F5 for compressor controller module protection, F7/F8 for temperature sensor error). For persistent errors, users are advised to contact support.

The manual also outlines normal operational situations, such as gurgling sounds from refrigerant flow, moisture formation in high humidity, and high temperatures on the back panel or compressor during operation, assuring users that these are not indicative of faults. A slight smell from rubber wheels is also noted as harmless.
