4. Press the <Format> key.
The <Abort> and <Confirm> keys are displayed to format the disk or abort
the operation.
5. Press the <Confirm> key to start formatting the floppy disk.
Note If there is no disk inserted in the disk drive, when you try to format it
MTS
e
will display the following error message:
(201) Insert a disk
Hit any key to continue.
Note If the disk is write protected MTS
e
will display the following error
message:
(200) disk error
Hit any key to continue.
While the disk is formatting, the floppy disk icon is displayed in the
window title bar.
No other operation can be carried out while this formatting is in progress. Once
the formatting has completed the floppy disk icon is removed and you can
continue using MTS
e
normally.
Formatting the hard disk (if installed)
Attention Formatting the hard disk will erase all the files present.
Use the following procedure to format a the hard disk:
1. Press the
FILE key.
The File manager window appears.
2. Move the cursor on the media line and select the hard disk option in order to
display the <Format> key.
3. Press the <Format> key
The Format Code window is displayed.
4. Enter the code: 1313 using the left/right arrow key
5. Press the
<Valid> key
The <Abort> and <Confirm> keys are displayed to format the disk or abort
the operation.
6. Press the <Confirm> key to start formatting the hard disk.
While the disk is formatting, the hard disk icon is displayed in the window
title bar.
No other operation can be carried out while this formatting is in progress. Once
the formatting has completed the hard disk icon is removed and you can
continue using the MTS
e
normally.
