This document is a user manual for the AEG DLE0970M Cooker Hood. It provides comprehensive information on safety, installation, product description, daily use, and maintenance of the appliance.
Function Description
The AEG DLE0970M is a cooker hood designed for domestic use above hobs, cookers, and similar cooking devices. Its primary function is to extract smoke, steam, and cooking odours from the kitchen, ensuring good air ventilation. The appliance features a control panel with dedicated buttons for various functions, including lighting and fan speed control.
Important Technical Specifications
The manual highlights several important technical specifications and safety requirements:
- Minimum Distance from Hob: The minimum distance between the hob surface (where pans stand) and the lower part of the appliance must be at least 65 cm, unless otherwise specified in the installation instructions for the appliance or hob.
- Air Discharge: The discharge of air must comply with local authority regulations.
- Ventilation: Good air ventilation is crucial in the room where the appliance is installed to prevent the backflow of gases from other fuel-burning appliances (e.g., central heating systems, thermosiphons, water-heaters, open fires). Ventilation openings must not be blocked, and collected air should not be conveyed into ducts used by other appliances.
- Maximum Vacuum: When the cooker hood operates with other appliances, the maximum vacuum generated in the room should not exceed 0.04 mbar.
- Electrical Connection: All electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician. The appliance parameters on the rating plate must be compatible with the mains power supply. If the symbol is not printed on the rating plate, the appliance must be earthed. A correctly installed shockproof socket is required, and the mains cable should not tangle. Multi-plug adapters and extension cables are not to be used. If the mains socket is loose, the plug should not be connected. The appliance should be connected at the end of the installation, ensuring access to the mains afterward. If connected directly to the power supply, the electrical installation must include an isolating device to disconnect the appliance from the mains at all poles, complying with overvoltage category III.
- Lighting: The appliance is supplied with an LED lamp, which can only be replaced by a technician.
Usage Features
The DLE0970M cooker hood offers several user-friendly features:

- Third Speed: Activates the motor at the third speed level.
- Maximum Speed: Activates the motor at the maximum speed level. After 5 minutes, the appliance automatically switches to the third speed.

To connect or disconnect the remote control, the appliance must be switched off, and the "First Speed / Off" button pressed for 3 seconds. The indicator on the control panel will flash twice for enabled and once for disabled.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the appliance's performance and safety:
- General Cleaning:
- Clean the appliance regularly with a soft cloth to prevent deterioration of the surface material.
- Use only neutral detergents.
- Do not use a steam cleaner, water spray, harsh abrasive cleaners, or sharp metal scrapers to clean the surface.
- After cooking, allow hot parts to cool before cleaning to avoid stains.
- Grease Filters:
- Clean grease filters regularly (at least every 2 months) to prevent fire risk from grease deposits.
- Grease filters can be washed in a dishwasher on a low temperature and short cycle. Discolouration may occur but does not affect performance.
- To clean, pull the cover open, press the mounting clip on the filter panel, tilt the filter downwards, and pull it out. Clean with a sponge and non-abrasive detergents or in a dishwasher. Reinstall in reverse order.
- Charcoal Filters (if applicable):
- Charcoal filters are non-washable and cannot be regenerated.
- They must be replaced approximately every 4-6 months, or more frequently with heavy usage.
- To replace, first remove the grease filters. Install new charcoal filters in reverse order.
- Service: For repairs, contact an Authorised Service Centre and use original spare parts. The lamp(s) are intended for household appliance conditions and should only be replaced by a technician.
