Troubleshooting Using the Diagnostic Software
Xtal Frequency Checks
Using the up/down arrow, select "Xtal frequency checks" in the IF
diagnostics menu. An 3335A synthesizer/level generator is used as a
stimulus and a spectrum analyzer is used to measure the response. The
symmetry adjustment range and the bandwidth adjustment range are
measured for each pole. The Xtal pole selection menu allows selection
using the up/down arrows. Select "All Poles" first, unless a particular
pole is suspected to have failed. An asterisk will appear at the points of
failure. An "@" indicates a measurement error (bad setup, GPIB not
responding, test equipment error, or major failure).
