Test Bluetooth components and systems
with standards-compliant signals.
Specify Bluetooth device address,
active member address, and payload
data for a DH1 packet type. Three
payload data formats are available:
8-bit pattern, truncated PN9 sequence,
and continuous PN9 sequence. When
continuous PN9 is selected, clock and
gate signals with delay control are
also generated. These signals can be
used to extract the continuous PN9
payload data from the DH1 packet
when performing receiver bit-error-
rate tests using Option UN7 (internal
BER analyzer).
The Bluetooth personality offers a
variety of impairments to synthesize
non-ideal signals for receiver testing.
Available impairments include modu-
lation index, symbol timing error,
carrier frequency offset, linear and
sinusoidal carrier frequency drift,
and AWGN. Define the burst shape by
specifying the number of symbols per
ramp to test a receiver’s response to
different transmitter burst profiles.
Option UN8 also offers a Bluetooth
predefined modulation format, how-
ever, Bluetooth packets are not creat-
ed. Instead a data pattern is selected
or downloaded to Option UN8 and
that data pattern is then Bluetooth
modulated.

Multicarrier

Characterize multicarrier compo-
nents by applying multiple digitally
modulated carriers. Generate up to
64 modulated carriers in a 15 MHz
bandwidth. Adjust the frequency and
power offset of each carrier to meet
test requirements. Select from pre-
defined modulation formats or create
a custom format. Define a custom for-
mat by choosing the modulation type,
filter and symbol rate. Custom modu-
lation types include a variety of PSK,
QAM, FSK and MSK. The data used
on each carrier is random.

PHS CDPD
GSM PWT
DECT EDGE
