Situation:
Improve the EMI shield plate soldering quality.
Solution/Action:
Please identify the symptom before proceed. Picture shown below applied for both cases.
1. Situation 1 – EMI shield plate loose and moveable
Estimated rework time : 30 minutes
Tools required : As stated in service guide and soldering tool
i. Follow the service guide to remove the top cover of U8903A.
ii. Check if EMI shield plate is loose or moveable.
iii. Apply solder to the soldering pad (location as shown at red square box).
iv. Clean the surrounding soldering area to avoid any solder shorts.
2. Situation 2 – EMI shield plate fallout from PCBA
Estimated rework and cal setup time : 90 minutes
Estimated testing time : 4 hours ( no hands on)
Tools required : As stated in service guide and soldering tool
i. Follow the service guide to remove the board.
ii. Apply solder to the thru holes and soldering pad.
iii. Clean the surrounding soldering area to avoid any solder shorts.
iv. Perform calibration.
