This document serves as a Quick Start Guide for the AGM G2, G2 PRO, and G2 Guardian smartphones, providing essential information on their features, usage, and maintenance.
The AGM G2 series phones are designed with durability in mind, featuring a waterproof receiver that should not be touched with hard pins. The display is a 6.58-inch screen. For connectivity, the device includes a SIM/SD tray with a waterproof rubber cover, supporting Nano SIM and Micro SD cards. It also features a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, both protected by waterproof rubber covers. The main microphone is used for talking and voice recording, while a sub microphone is present for noise reduction and is also waterproof, so it should not be touched with hard pins.
The phone's camera system is robust, with a 32MP front camera for taking front-facing photos. On the rear, it boasts a 108MP main camera for photos and videos, and a 2MP macro camera for close-up shots. For specialized imaging, the AGM G2 PRO and G2 Guardian models feature a thermal imaging camera, with the G2 PRO having a fixed focal length and the G2 Guardian offering a variable focal length. Additionally, there's a 20MP infrared night vision camera for taking photos in dark areas, complemented by infrared LEDs that act as a night vision camera fill light. The AGM G2 model, in contrast, features a breathing lamp.
User interaction is facilitated by several physical keys. The Volume Key allows users to increase or decrease the phone volume and mute the phone during incoming calls. The Fingerprint/Power Key serves multiple purposes: it acts as a fingerprint sensor, a long press powers the phone on/off, and a short press locks or unlocks the screen. A dedicated PTT KEY/USER DEFINED KEY can be configured by the user for functions like Audio Play, Camera, or LED Torch, and pressing and holding it activates the defined function when the screen is unlocked.
The device also incorporates various sensors, including an optical proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. An air pressure balance hole is also present. For charging, the phone can be connected via the USB Type-C port, or through charging connection spots designed for desktop dock connections. An LED flash light is available, and a high brightness top LED torch is also included. The phone also supports NFC (Near Field Communication) for various applications.
When it comes to usage, the guide provides instructions for common functions. To lock or unlock the screen, the POWER key is pressed. Unlocking involves pressing the POWER key and sliding the screen up. Screenshots can be taken by simultaneously pressing the POWER key and VOLUME DOWN key. Making calls involves touching the phone icon, inputting the number, and using the call record or contact icons. Sending messages and emails are straightforward, with dedicated icons for each.
For connectivity, users can enable or disable Wi-Fi and data connection through the Settings menu. Location services can also be toggled on or off to save power. Adding a new language is done through the Settings menu as well.
Camera functions are detailed for normal photo/video, night vision photo, and macro photo modes. Users activate the camera menu, select the desired mode, and then use the shot icon. Switching between front and rear cameras is also possible. A Functions Shortcut Menu is accessible by pulling down from the status bar, allowing quick activation or deactivation of functions.
The thermal imaging camera, available on the G2 PRO and G2 Guardian, is activated via the APP IRCamera. Important safety notices for the thermal camera include avoiding direct exposure to high-intensity thermal radiation sources like the sun or lasers, as this can cause permanent damage. The ideal working temperature for the thermal camera is between -10 °C and 50 °C. Users are warned not to crack the lens with sharp objects, use corrosive solutions for cleaning, or disassemble the device. Static electricity awareness is also advised.
Maintenance features focus on waterproofing and battery care. The AGM G2 is IP68/IP69K/MIL-STD-810H certified, indicating its robust waterproof and dustproof capabilities. However, it is crucial to ensure that the USB waterproof rubber cover and SIM/SD tray waterproof rubber cover are completely closed to prevent water damage. If the phone comes into contact with water, the audio may be temporarily affected. In such cases, the phone should be dried with a clean cloth and allowed to air dry naturally for 30 minutes to restore audio. Hairdryers or other methods not listed should not be used, as they can affect phone performance. If the phone has experienced a strong shock, bending, or twisting, it's important to ensure it does not come into contact with water.
The battery is non-removable. Standby time is influenced by network signal strength, temperature, and usage of features like screen brightness, games, music, video, location services, camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other applications. For charging, the USB Type-C cable should be plugged into the phone and connected to a certified power adapter. Some versions of the AGM G2 may not include a power adapter in the box, so users must use CE/CB/FCC/CCC/EAC or equivalent certified chargers to avoid damage or battery explosion. The USB Type-C port cover must be opened to connect the cable, and excessive force should be avoided. After charging, the cable and adapter should be removed, and the USB port cover closed.
For optimal battery health, the phone should be fully charged initially and not left on charge once full. The charger should be disconnected when not in use. If the battery is fully discharged, it should be charged for at least 15 minutes before powering on. The optimum charging temperature is between 0℃ and 40℃; charging outside this range can damage the battery or shorten its life. Specifically, charging under extremely low or high temperatures (outside 5℃~40℃) can damage or explode the battery. Certified chargers and cables are recommended for maximum performance and safety. Even when switched off and not in use, the battery will self-discharge, so it should be charged at least every two months to prevent complete power loss and data protection.
In case the system stops working, pressing and holding the power button until the device vibrates will restart it. Users are also advised not to cover the Receiver, Main MIC, and Sub MIC, and to adjust the volume to a comfortable level to prevent hearing damage. At full volume, extended use of the mobile audio player may damage the user's hearing. Only officially released applications for the AGM G2 should be installed, as AGM is not responsible for third-party application data.
