To
change
the
direction
of
tape
travel
automatically
from
FORWARD
to
REVERSE
(See
below),
or
from
REVERSE
to
FORWARD
(See
next
page:
For
Playback
only
),
the
following
operations
must
be
carried
out.
PREPARATION
FOR
AUTOMATIC
REVERSE
Attach
a
2.5cm
4cm
length
of
Sensing
Tape
(Accessory)
to
the
base
(back
surface)
of
the
tape
at
a
point
where
the
direction
is
to
be
reversed.
(See
Fig.
1.)
When
the
sensing
tape
comes
in
contact
with
the
sensing
pole,
the
direction
of
tape
travel
will
automatically
change
from
the
Forward
to
Reverse.
In
this
case,
during
recording
the
Recording
mode
will
remain
and
will
not
be
released.
*
Do
not
attach
Sensing
Tapeto
places
other
than
where
tape
travel
is
to
be
automatically
reversed.
The
above
operation
can
only
be
effected
when
the
Reverse
Selector
is
positioned,
either
to
TWO-WAY(
>
},
or
to
CONTINUOUS
(<>).

Recording
Button
(REC)
is
depressed
together
with
Forward
Button
(
»
),
recording
is
possible
only
in
Forward
direction.
When
tape
reaches
the
end,
it
will
automatically
stop.

Even
when
Sensing
Tape
is
attached
to
the
tape,

above
operations
will
take
place.

tape

Sensing
Tape

attached
to
both
ends
of
the
tape
and
the
Reverse
Selector
is
positioned
to
CONTINUOUS

PREPARATION
FOR
CONTINUOUS
PLAYBACK
For
Continuous
Playback,
it
is
necessary
to
attach
Sensing
Tape
to
two
places—to
the
beginning
and
end
of
the
recorded
tape.
Attach
a
2.5cm
4cm
length
of
Sensing
Tape
(Accessory)
to
the
magnetic
surface
of
the
tape
where
tape
travel
is
to
be
changed
from
Reverse
to
Forward.
(See
Fig.
2.)
When
the
Sensing
Tape
makes
contact
with
the
Sensing
Pole
(Tension
Arm),
the
tape
will
automatically
change
the
direction
and
will
travel
Forward.
*
Regarding
preparation
for
automatic
change
from
Forward
to
Reverse,
piease
refer
to
Page
14.
*
When
in
the
RECORDING
mode,
the
tape
will
continue
recording
to
the
end
of
the
tape,
even
after
the
Sensing
Tape
comes
in
contact
with
the
Tension
Arm.
*
Do
not
attach
Sensing
Tape
to
places
other
than
where
continuous
playback
is
desired.
The
above
operations
can
be
effected
only
when
the
Reverse
Selector
is
set
to
CONTINUOUS
(<>).
