Troubleshooting
No power.
Power cord is not connected properly.
Check the power cord connection.
No sound.
Improper connections.
Check that the connection cords are properly connected.
The connected amplifier’s input selector is not set properly.
Check the input selector.
The CAL switch is set to = .
Set the switch to mm . ;
The tape monitor switch is not set properly.
Set the switch to SOURCE or TAPE by pressing the
MONITOR button.
The stereo cassette deck goes into the recording or play-
back mode when the power is turned.on.
The TIMER START switch is set to REC or PLAY.
Set the switch to OFF. ;
Recording will not take place.
Distorted recording or playback.
The cassette deck goes into playback automatically
during tape winding.
_ Switch to 2 when recording from the CD/DAT DIRECT
The cassette tape’s recording defeat tabs are removed.
Cover them with adhesive tape.
The ses button is not pressed.
Press the sea button.

Low and middle frequency sounds are stressed during
playback.

Set the switches according to how the tape was recorded.
