4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS EN
Free chlorine analysis
13) Open the instrument lid and remove the cuvette of the measurement
compartment;
14) Remove the cuvette lid with the sample used in the zeroing process;
15) Add 3 DPD1 reagent drops in the sample then 3 DPD2 reagent drops, holding
reagent bottles upright while adding drops;
16) Close the cuvette with its lid, observing the correct fit to avoid leaks in the
instrument;
17) Gently shake the cuvette to homogenize the sample;
18) Clean and dry the outer wall of the cuvette using a cleaning wipe or a soft paper
towel;
19) Insert the cuvette in Cloro-pH Max’s measurement compartment, aligning the
arrow on the cuvette with the mark located on the instrument’s compartment;
20) Close the instrument’s measurement lid to avoid reading interference;
21) With the instrument on a table or on a horizontal position, press briefly the Meas.
button. Will appear on the display Analyzing...
22) View on display the sample’s free chlorine measurement value;
23) To save the reading value in the instrument, press the save button.
Total chlorine analysis
24) Perform the Free chlorine analysis procedure;
25) Open the instrument lid and remove the cuvette in the measurement
compartment;
26) Remove the cuvette lid with the sample used in the free chlorine analysis.
27) Add 1 DPD3 reagent drop in the same sample, holding the bottle in vertical
position during the drop addition;
28) Close the cuvette with its lid, observing the correct fit to avoid leaks in the
instrument;
29) Gently shake the cuvette to homogenize the sample;
30) Clean and dry the outer wall of the cuvette by using a cleaning wipe or a soft
paper towel;
31) Insert the cuvette in the Chlorine-pH Max’s measurement compartment, aligning
the arrow on the cuvette with the mark located on the instrument’s compartment;
32) Close the instrument’s measurement lid to avoid reading interference;
33) With the instrument on a table or in a horizontal position, hold down the Meas.
button until the 150 second count appears on the display;
34) After count, view on the display the value of the total chlorine measurement.
35) To save the reading value in the instrument, press the save button;
