General safety instructions for power tools/Before starting the equipment/Attachment and operation
ter blade contacts anything it cannot cut. This contact may cause the 3T brush
cutter blade to stop for an instant, and suddenly “thrust” the unit away from
the object that was hit. This reaction can be violent enough to cause the oper-
ator to lose control of the unit. Blade thrust may occur without warning if the
blade snags, stalls or binds. This is more then likely to occur in areas where it
is difficult to see the material being cut.
6. Before starting the equipment
Each time before use, check the following:
That there are no leaks in the fuel system.
That the equipment is in perfect condition and that the safety devices and cutting devices
are complete.
That all screws are securely fastened.
That all moving parts move smoothly.
That there are no damaged parts, such as cracks in the cutting attachment.
m CAUTION! The engine does not come with oil in it. Therefore, ensure that you add 0.08
litres (80mL) of oil before starting it up. Use normal, multigrade oil (SAE30 / 10W30). The
oil level in the engine must be checked each time before mowing. (Fig. 41+42)
You will also need to fill with petrol, as this is also not supplied upon delivery.
