Alesis DM10 - Setup Guide
The DM10 default settings allow the user to play immediately upon connection, but, like any
new kit, sometimes a few small adjustments are needed in order for the DM10 to be up, running,
and ready to rock with your style of playing. While there are lots of fine-tuning options available
that you may become familiar with over time, this guide (and video) walks through the main
settings to adjust in order to get playing as quickly as possible!
As soon as you purchase and power on your DM10 module, you will be prompted to choose
a kit. There are four options: DM10 Studio Kit, DM10 X Kit, DM10 Studio Mesk Kit, DM10 X
Mesh Kit.
Be sure to choose the correct kit in order for the presets and playability to be set properly right
out of the box. If you choose the wrong kit or later upgrade and need to choose a different kit,
you can change it by reinitializing the module - which clears all settings back to the factory
defaults and will re-prompt you to choose a kit - or by following the steps suggested below.
Note: If you have an older DM10 module, you may need to update your firmware. Follow the
steps suggested here: if there are four kits available to choose from, then you do not need to
update the firmware. Otherwise, visit the DM10 Studio Kit or DM10 X Kit product page to
obtain and install the latest firmware for your module.
