Drive Belt Maintenance
The drive belts MUST be free from oil and
foreign contaminants to prolong life.
To Replace The Drive Belt:
1. Place the trowel on a flat, level surface with the blades pitched flat.
2. Disconnect the battery. Refer to Figure 3.2.
3. Remove the clutch cover by removing (2) 3/8”bolts and nuts. Refer to Figure 3.3
4. Remove the clutch 7/16” tap bolt and remove the driver pulley. Refer to Figure 3.3
5. Disconnect and remove/loosen (2) 5/16” fasteners on the right side driveline U-Joint that is
the closest to the driven pulley. Refer to Figure 3.3.
6. Move the U-Joint so that the belt can slide through.
7. If necessary, use a M6x1.0x40 mm bolt to spread apart the pulleys to allow slack in the belt
and remove it from the lower and upper pulleys. Refer to Figure 3.4.
8. Replace the new belt in opposite order of removal.
9. Apply one drop of blue Loctite No. 242 to the U-Joint fasteners and reassemble the U-Joint
and driver pulley in opposite order of disassembly.
10. Reconnect the battery.
