Overview

The ALTO MS1 is a professional 2-channel analog sound processor, also referred to as a speaker modeller, designed to enhance audio performance with a variety of effects. It features 16 effects presets and is equipped with balanced JACK input and output connectors. The device is designed for musicians and audio professionals, offering world-class designs and advanced audio-specific algorithms.

Function Description:

The MS1 functions as a speaker modeller, allowing users to apply various sound effects to their audio signals. It processes audio through two channels, offering a range of presets that simulate different acoustic environments and speaker characteristics. The primary goal is to provide an excellent electric performance by shaping the sound according to the selected preset.

Usage Features:

Front Panel Controls:

  • Gain Control (1): This knob adjusts the input gain within a range of -20 dB to +20dB. It allows users to fine-tune the input signal level to prevent clipping and ensure optimal sound quality.
  • Clip LED (2): This LED illuminates when the input signal is too strong, indicating potential distortion. Users should attenuate the input signal if this LED lights up to avoid undesirable audio artifacts.
  • Presets Selector (3): This knob allows selection from 16 different effects presets. The available presets include:

Installation and Connection:

  • It is recommended to use shielded twisting pair cables for connections to reduce noise and signal loss.
  • The wiring for TRS type balanced connectors is standard: Tip for positive (+), Ring for negative (-), and Sleeve for ground.

Safety Instructions:

  • Power Supply: Ensure the mains voltage matches the product's rating. Unplug during storms or long periods of disuse.
  • External Connection: Use proper insulated mains cabling.
  • Covers: Do not remove covers; high voltages are present. Servicing should only be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Fuse: Use only the recommended fuse type. Disconnect from AC outlet before replacing.
  • Protective Ground: Ensure the product is connected to ground before turning on. Do not cut ground wires or remove ground wiring from the terminal.
  • Operating Conditions: Install according to manufacturer's instructions. Avoid liquids, rain, moisture, direct heat sources, and blocked ventilation.
  • Power Cord and Plug: Do not tamper with the cord or plug. Protect them from physical stress.
  • Servicing: Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning:

  • When necessary, blow off dust from the product or use a dry cloth.
  • Do not use solvents such as Benzol or Alcohol.
  • Keep the product clean and free from dust for safety.

Warranty:

  • Warranty Registration Card: To obtain warranty service, the buyer must fill out and return the enclosed Warranty Registration Card within 10 days of the purchase date. Incomplete or incorrect information may void the warranty.
  • Return Notice:
    • For warranty service returns, the product must be well packed in its original shipping carton to prevent damage.
    • Provide a copy of the sales receipt or proof of purchase, along with detailed return address and contact telephone number.
    • A brief description of the defect is appreciated.
    • Prepay all costs for return shipping, handling, and insurance.
  • Terms and Conditions:
    • ALTO warrants the product to be free from defects in materials and/or workmanship for 1 year from the purchase date, provided the Warranty Registration Card is completed on time.
    • Warranty service is only available to the original consumer who purchased the product directly from a retail dealer and is non-transferable.
    • During warranty service, ALTO may repair or replace the product at its own option, free of charge for parts or labor.
    • The warranty does not cover damages from abuse, misuse, normal wear and tear, alterations, modifications, damage caused by other products or forces, or abnormal service/repair by unqualified personnel. In such cases, the buyer will be charged for expenses.
    • ALTO is not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
    • The warranty provides specific rights compatible with state laws, and other statutory rights may vary by state.
