1. Assemble the Ameda HygieniKit

Milk Collection system as
per the instructions included with the product.
2. Insert the tubing adaptor on the HygieniKit
©
Milk Collection
System into the piston cylinder opening.
3. Centre your nipple(s) into the breast flange(s) of the
HygieniKit

4. Slowly, turn the vacuum dial to the right to the highest
position most comfortable for you. Note: High suction does
not necessarily produce more milk.
Setting the Cycle Speed
5. Turn the cycle dial all the way to the right to help trigger the
let – down reflex. Once your milk begins to flow, turn the dial
back to the left. As your milk begins to slow down, repeat
step 5 to trigger more let-downs.
6. When finished pumping, turn the vacuum dial all the way to
the left to turn pump off.

Slowly turn the vacuum dial to the highest comfortable position for optimal suction.

Setting the Cycle Speed

Triggering Let-Down Reflex

Turn cycle dial right to trigger let-down; adjust as milk flow slows to trigger more let-downs.

Turning Off the Pump

Turn the vacuum dial all the way to the left to turn the pump off when finished.

Cleaning the Ameda HygieniKit

Post-Use Cleaning of Tubing

Wipe the tubing adaptor, tubing, and adaptor cap after use; do not wash.

Washing Pump Components

Wash diaphragm, pump body, valve, bottle, and reducing insert in warm soapy water.

HygieniKit Sterilization

Sterilize HygieniKit items according to hospital protocol or home methods like boiling.

Cleaning the Ameda Elite

Elite Unit Cleaning Procedure

Wipe the Elite unit with a hospital-grade disinfectant; avoid abrasives or solvents.
