Why is my Ameda Breast Pump losing suction and having slow milk flow?

Several factors can cause slow milk flow or loss of suction in your Ameda Breast Pump. First, inspect the valves and diaphragms for any tears or holes, and replace them if damaged. Ensure correct assembly and that all connection points are securely attached. Also, check flanges, adapter cap, or bottles for chips, cracks, or breaks, replacing any damaged parts. Finally, ensure a good fit: the nipple should move freely in the tunnel of the flange; if the nipple is rubbing, the flange is too small; if the areola is being pulled in, it is too large. Wash valves per cleaning section. Do not insert bottle brush or something similar into valves. It is recommended replacing valves approximately every 8-12 weeks but this can vary depending on cleaning and use.
