Overview

This document serves as the user manual for the AOC 24G2SPU LCD Monitor, providing comprehensive instructions for its safe operation, setup, adjustment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

The AOC 24G2SPU LCD Monitor is designed to deliver a high-quality visual experience, suitable for various applications including gaming, multimedia consumption, and general computing. Its core function is to display visual information from a connected computer or other video sources.

Usage Features:

The monitor offers a range of features to enhance user experience and adaptability:

  • Adjustable Viewing Angle: For optimal viewing comfort, the monitor's angle can be adjusted. Users are advised to hold the stand firmly when changing the angle to prevent the monitor from toppling. It supports a tilt range from -5° to 23° and a height adjustment of 130mm. Crucially, users should avoid touching the LCD screen directly during angle adjustments to prevent damage and refrain from pressing on the screen.
  • Connectivity Options: The 24G2SPU provides multiple input options to ensure compatibility with a wide array of devices. These include two HDMI ports (HDMI-1, HDMI-2), a DisplayPort (DP), a D-SUB port, an Audio In port, and an Earphone port. For USB connectivity, it features a USB-PC upstream port and three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, with one of them supporting Quick Charging. This extensive connectivity allows users to connect multiple devices simultaneously and easily switch between them.
  • Wall Mounting Capability: For users who prefer a wall-mounted setup, the monitor is VESA compliant, allowing it to be attached to a separately purchased wall mounting arm. The manual provides clear steps for removing the base and installing the wall mount, emphasizing the importance of following the manufacturer's instructions for the mounting arm.
  • Adaptive-Sync/AMD FreeSync Premium/G-SYNC Functionality: For a smoother gaming experience, the monitor supports Adaptive-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, and G-SYNC functions when connected via DP/HDMI. These technologies synchronize the monitor's refresh rate with the graphics card's frame rate, eliminating screen tearing and stuttering. The manual lists compatible AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards for these features.
  • On-Screen Display (OSD) Settings: The monitor features an intuitive OSD menu, accessible via dedicated hotkeys, allowing users to fine-tune various display parameters.
    • Hotkeys: Dedicated buttons provide quick access to essential functions: Source/Auto/Exit, Game Mode/<, Dial Point/>, Menu/Enter, and Power. The "Game Mode/<" hotkey allows users to quickly switch between predefined game modes (FPS, RTS, Racing, Gamer 1, Gamer 2, Gamer 3) optimized for different game types. The "Dial Point/>" hotkey enables or disables a crosshair on the screen, useful for aiming in games. The "Source/Auto/Exit" button serves as a source hotkey when the OSD is closed and can initiate auto-configuration for D-Sub models when pressed continuously.
    • Luminance Settings: Users can adjust Contrast and Brightness (0-100), select various Eco modes (Standard, Text, Internet, Game, Movie, Sports, Reading) for different viewing scenarios, and fine-tune Gamma settings (Gamma1, Gamma2, Gamma3). Dynamic Contrast Ratio (DCR) can be enabled or disabled. HDR Mode (HDR Picture, HDR Movie, HDR Game) is also available, though it disables manual adjustment of Contrast, Brightness, and Gamma when active.
    • Image Setup: This section allows for precise image adjustments, including Clock (0-100) to reduce vertical-line noise, Phase (0-100) to reduce horizontal-line noise, Sharpness (0-100), and Horizontal/Vertical Position (0-100) for fine-tuning the picture's placement.
    • Color Setup: Users can select different Color Temperatures (Warm, Normal, Cool, sRGB, User) or manually adjust Red, Green, and Blue gains (0-100). The DCB Mode (Full Enhance, Nature Skin, Green Field, Sky-blue, AutoDetect, Off) provides various color enhancement options, with a DCB Demo available to showcase these effects. Similar to HDR Mode, when HDR Mode is active, Color Setup items cannot be adjusted.
    • Picture Boost: This feature allows users to enable or disable a "Bright Frame" and adjust its size (14-100), brightness (0-100), contrast (0-100), and horizontal/vertical position (0-100) for a better viewing experience. This feature is also disabled when HDR Mode is active.
    • OSD Setup: This section covers OSD-specific settings such as Language, Timeout (5-120 seconds), DP Capability (1.1/1.2), OSD Horizontal/Vertical Position (0-100), Volume (0-100), Transparence (0-100), Break Reminder (On/Off) for continuous work, and USB power control (On/Off) during power saving.
    • Game Setting: This crucial section for gamers includes Game Mode selection (FPS, RTS, Racing, Gamer 1, Gamer 2, Gamer 3, off), Shadow Control (0-100) to adjust dark area visibility, Overdrive (Weak, Medium, Strong, Boost, Off) to adjust response time, Game Color (0-20) for saturation adjustment, LowBlue Mode (Off, Multimedia, Internet, Office, Reading) to reduce blue light, MBR (0-20) to adjust Motion Blur Reduction, and Adaptive-Sync/AMD FreeSync/G-SYNC (On/Off) control. A Frame Counter (Off, Right-up, Right-Down, Left-Down, Left-Up) can display the vertical frequency on the screen. Note that MBR and Overdrive Boost are only available when Adaptive-Sync is off and the vertical frequency is above 75 Hz. Also, when HDR Mode is active, Game Setting items cannot be adjusted.
    • Extra Settings: This menu includes Input Select to choose the signal source, Auto Config for automatic picture adjustment, Off Timer (0-24hrs) for automatic shutdown, Image Ratio (Wide, 4:3) for display scaling, DDC/CI (yes/no) for Display Data Channel/Command Interface support, and Reset to restore all menu settings to default.

Maintenance Features:

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of the monitor:

  • Cleaning: The cabinet should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Strong detergents should be avoided as they can damage the cabinet. When cleaning, care must be taken to prevent any liquid from leaking into the product. The cleaning cloth should not be too rough to avoid scratching the screen surface. Most importantly, the power cord must be disconnected before cleaning the product to prevent electric shock.
  • Ventilation: Adequate space around the monitor is crucial for proper air circulation. The manual recommends leaving at least 12 inches (30cm) of space at the top and 4 inches (10cm) on the sides and back to prevent overheating, which could lead to fire or damage.
  • Power Management: The monitor should only be operated from the specified power source. It is equipped with a three-pronged grounded plug for safety. Users are advised to unplug the unit during lightning storms or prolonged periods of disuse to protect it from power surges. Overloading power strips and extension cords should be avoided to prevent fire or electric shock.
  • Handling and Installation: The monitor should be placed on a stable surface or a manufacturer-recommended stand/bracket. Objects should never be pushed into the monitor's slots, and liquids should not be spilled on it. The front of the product should not be placed on the floor. During operation or transportation, the monitor should not be subjected to severe vibration, high impact, knocking, or dropping.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section to help users diagnose and resolve common issues such as the power LED not turning on, no images on the screen, fuzzy or ghosting pictures, flickering, missing colors, or improper screen centering/sizing. This guide provides practical solutions like checking cable connections, adjusting display settings, and ensuring proper driver installation.
  • LED Indicator: The monitor features an LED indicator that changes color based on its status: White for Full Power Mode and Orange for Active-off Mode, providing a quick visual cue of the monitor's operational state.
