Overview

This document serves as a user manual for the AOC LCD Monitor models 24V5 and 27V5, providing comprehensive instructions for setup, adjustment, and maintenance. It begins with crucial safety information, outlining national conventions for notes, cautions, and warnings to ensure user safety and prevent damage to the device.

Function Description

The AOC LCD Monitor is designed to provide a visual display for computer systems. It supports various input signals, including HDMI and DisplayPort (DP), allowing for versatile connectivity with different devices. The monitor offers a range of adjustable settings to optimize the viewing experience, including luminance, color setup, picture boost, and game-specific enhancements. It is equipped with VESA DDC2B capabilities, enabling it to communicate its identity and display capabilities to the host system, facilitating a plug-and-play experience. The monitor also features an LED indicator to show its power status.

Usage Features

The monitor's setup involves attaching the stand and base, or alternatively, mounting it on a wall using a VESA-compatible arm. The stand allows for adjustment of the viewing angle, with a recommended range of -5° to 23° tilt and a height adjustment of 130mm, ensuring ergonomic comfort.

Connecting the monitor to a PC is straightforward:

  1. Connect the power cord securely to the monitor.
  2. Turn off the computer and unplug its power cable.
  3. Connect the display signal cable (DP or HDMI) from the monitor to the video connector on the back of the computer.
  4. Plug the power cords of both the computer and the display into a nearby outlet.
  5. Turn on the computer and display.

The monitor features an intuitive On-Screen Display (OSD) menu for adjusting various settings. Hotkeys provide quick access to frequently used functions:

  • Source/Exit/Up: Used to navigate up in the OSD menu or as a source hotkey when the OSD is closed.
  • Eco/DCR/Down: Navigates down in the OSD menu or adjusts Eco/DCR settings when the OSD is closed.
  • Clear Vision/Left: Activates Clear Vision mode or navigates left in the OSD menu. Holding this button for 5 seconds activates/deactivates the Clear Vision Demo.
  • Volume/Right: Activates the volume adjustment bar or navigates right in the OSD menu.
  • Power/Menu/Enter: Turns the monitor on/off, displays the OSD, or confirms selections within the OSD. Holding it for about 2 seconds turns off the monitor.

The OSD menu is structured into several categories:

  • Luminance: Adjusts contrast, brightness, Eco mode (Standard, Text, Internet, Game, Movie, Sports, Reading), Gamma settings (Gamma 1, 2, 3), DCR (On/Off), and HDR Mode (Off, HDR Picture, HDR Movie, HDR Game). Note that when HDR Mode is active, other luminance settings are locked.
  • Color Setup: Allows for color temperature adjustments (Warm, Normal, Cool, sRGB, User), DCB Mode (Full Enhance, Nature Skin, Green Field, Sky-blue, Auto Detect, Off), and DCB Demo (On/Off). Red, Green, and Blue gain can also be adjusted. Similar to luminance, when HDR Mode is active, color setup items cannot be adjusted.
  • Picture Boost: Features Bright Frame (On/Off), Frame Size, Brightness, Contrast, H. position, and V. position adjustments for a specific area of the screen. These settings are also locked when HDR Mode is active.
  • OSD Setup: Configures OSD language, timeout, DP Capability (1.1/1.2), H. Position, V. Position, Transparence, and Break Reminder (On/Off). The Break Reminder function alerts the user after continuous work for more than 1 hour.
  • Game Setting: Offers various game modes (FPS, RTS, Racing, Gamer 1, 2, 3, Off), Shadow Control, Overdrive (Weak, Medium, Strong, Off), Game Color, LowBlue Mode (Reading/Office, Internet, Multimedia, Off), Dial Point (On/Off), AMD FreeSync (On/Off), and Frame Counter. Many of these settings are unavailable when HDR Mode is active.
  • Extra: Includes Input Select (Auto/HDMI/DP), Off timer, Image Ratio (Wide/4:3), DDC/CI (Yes/No), and Reset (Yes/No) options.
  • Exit: Exits the main OSD menu.

The monitor's LED indicator shows its status: white for full power mode and orange for active-off mode.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning of the monitor cabinet is recommended using a soft cloth and mild detergent to remove stains. Strong detergents should be avoided as they can damage the product. When cleaning, care must be taken to prevent liquid from leaking into the product, and the cleaning cloth should not be too rough to avoid scratching the screen surface. It is crucial to disconnect the power cord before cleaning the monitor to prevent electric shock.

The manual also provides troubleshooting tips for common issues such as the power LED not being on, no images on the screen, fuzzy pictures, flickering, missing colors, or improper screen centering. These tips often involve checking cable connections, power supply, monitor drivers, and adjusting OSD settings like contrast, brightness, and resolution. For more complex issues or strange smells, sounds, or smoke, users are advised to immediately disconnect the power plug and contact a Service Center.

To protect the equipment, it is always recommended to turn off both the PC and the LCD monitor before connecting or disconnecting any cables. The monitor should not be placed on unstable surfaces, and objects should not be pushed into its slots. Adequate ventilation space around the monitor is essential to prevent overheating. When adjusting the viewing angle, users should hold the stand and avoid touching or pressing the LCD screen to prevent damage.
