Overview

This document is a user manual for the AMF60SS Built-In Electric Multifunction Single Oven, providing comprehensive instructions for its installation, operation, and maintenance. It emphasizes safety information, proper usage, and care to ensure the appliance's longevity and optimal performance.

Function Description

The AMF60SS is a versatile built-in electric multifunction single oven designed for domestic use. It combines the advantages of traditional convection ovens with modern fan-assisted models, offering a wide range of cooking modes to suit various culinary needs. The oven is controlled by a thermostat, allowing temperature selection between 50°C and 250°C.

The appliance features an electronic programmer that enables users to set desired cooking times and end cooking times, or to use it as a simple timer. The control panel includes a cooking mode selection dial and a cooking temperature selection dial. An oven indication light illuminates when the oven is heating up to the set temperature.

Usage Features

The oven offers several cooking modes, each designed for specific cooking requirements:

  • Oven Light: This setting illuminates the oven cavity and operates across all selected functions, allowing users to monitor food during cooking.
  • Grill: This mode utilizes the central part of the top heating element for grilling. Food should be placed on the 3rd or 4th shelf position from the bottom. The manual recommends using the provided grill pan on the 1st rack to collect sauces and grease, preventing smoke and drips onto the oven bottom. For optimal grilling, the thermostat should be set to its highest setting, though lower temperatures can also be used.
  • Fan Assisted Grill: This mode combines the grill element with the rear fan, providing rapid and even heat distribution. It's ideal for browning surfaces and cooking the bottom part of food simultaneously, or for adding a gratin finish. For this mode, the grid should be placed on the 2nd or 3rd oven rack, with the grill pan on the 1st rack. A thermostat setting of 200°C is recommended for efficient use of infrared technology.
  • True Fan: In this mode, the circular rear element and the fan operate together, dispersing heat through forced convection. This setting is suitable for roasting joints, ensuring they are well-cooked on the outside and tender inside. This mode does not require pre-heating.
  • Defrost Mode: This mode activates only the oven fan without heat, making it suitable for quickly thawing frozen foods. Thawing times will vary based on the quantity and type of food.

The electronic programmer allows for both automatic and semi-automatic cooking settings.

  • Automatic Setting: Users can set a specific cooking time and an end cooking time. The oven will automatically switch on and off according to these settings.
  • Semi-Automatic Setting: This allows users to set either a baking duration (up to 10 hours) or an end time for baking (up to 23 hours 59 minutes). The oven will switch on immediately and then switch off automatically at the set time or after the set duration.
  • Timer Function: A standalone timer can be set for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes, providing a countdown and an alarm when the time elapses.

The manual also provides practical cooking advice, including recommended temperatures and shelf positions for various cakes, biscuits, desserts, and grilled items, emphasizing that these are guidelines and can be adjusted to personal taste.

Maintenance Features

The manual provides detailed instructions for cleaning and maintaining the oven to ensure its longevity and safe operation:

  • General Cleaning: Enamelled and stainless steel parts should be cleaned with a damp cloth using minimal soap and lukewarm water. Abrasive powders, corrosive substances, and abrasive sponges should be avoided to prevent damage to surfaces. Stainless steel cleaners are recommended for stubborn stains.
  • Interior Cleaning: The oven interior should preferably be cleaned immediately after use, while still warm, with hot water and soap. Abrasive detergents, sponges, or acids (like lime scale removers) should not be used as they can damage the enamel. For tough grease spots, a specialist oven cleaner is recommended, with instructions followed carefully.
  • Condensation: If condensation forms during extended use, it should be removed with a soft, dry cloth once the oven has cooled.
  • Oven Seal: The rubber seal around the oven opening should be checked regularly for condition and cleaned without abrasive products. If damaged, customer service should be contacted.
  • Oven Door Removal: For thorough cleaning, the oven door can be removed. The manual provides a step-by-step guide to unhooking the hinges and detaching the door.
  • Inner Pane of Glass Removal: The inner glass pane can be removed by unscrewing two screws, allowing for cleaning of both the inner and outer glass surfaces.
  • Oven Lamp Replacement: The oven lamp is replaceable. Users are instructed to disconnect the appliance from the power supply, open the oven door, remove oven shelves, and then remove the glass cover of the lamp-holder. The lamp should be replaced with a high-temperature resistant bulb (220-240V, 25W, E14 type).

The manual strongly advises against using excessive amounts of water or steam cleaners inside the oven. It also warns against lining the oven bottom with aluminum foil, as this can compromise cooking and damage the enamel. Regular checks of the power plug and cord for damage are recommended, with replacements handled by qualified personnel.
