WINTER TRAVEL
Traveling
in an Apollo
during
the cold winter
months
can be one
of the most
exhilarating
experiences
in traveling.
When
we speak
of cold, we
mean a
temperature
between
0 and 32
degrees. These
are certain
steps to take,
just
as
you
would at
home, to keep
things from freezing.
' You
should keep
heat in your Apollo
at all
times.
Q
You
should keep
a plentiful supply
of propane
gas.
' If your stop
is longer than
eight to ten
hours (without
driving
your Apollo
to recharge
the batteries)
then you
should try to
obtain access
to 110V AC
(shore power)
in order to keep
the
batteries
charged. If you cannot
obtain shore power,
start
your
engine
and
run it about
thirty minutes
at a fast idle
with
battery switch
on both just
prior to retiring
for the night.
This
is
to insure sufficient
voltage to
keep your furnace
working
all
through
the
night.
STORING
YOUR
APOLLO
When storing your Apollo for short
or long periods you should use the
same
precautions as you would in your own home
in regard to perishables, ventila-
tion and rain. Also for prolonged storage
periods, flush out all the drain lines
and the holding tank. Also drain the entire water system including the water
heater and the water storage tank.
Twice a year or after a long storage period we suggest
you check and clean gas
operated appliances.
Follow
this procedure to store
your
Apollo.
v
Park your Apollo on
level ground and open all faucets.
v
Turn water
pump switch
off and
open all drain
valves.
Refer
to
schematic of plumbing
for drain valve locations.
