Do you have a question about the Aprimatic WK120 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The WK120 CONTROL SYSTEM is an electronic control unit designed for the automation of NK series sliding doors. It is specifically intended for automatic doors with one or two horizontal sliding wings, suitable for civilian, public, or industrial use in dry, covered environments for entry and pedestrian transit.

Function Description:

The WK120 system manages the electrical installation and operation of automatic sliding doors. It facilitates various operating modes, including Bidirectional, Free, Output, Input, Partial Opening, Lock, Open, and Pharmacy modes, which can be selected and viewed via connected selectors. If no selector is installed, the default operating mode is Bidirectional. The system incorporates self-learning capabilities to automatically adjust operating parameters based on door stroke and weight class, ensuring optimal performance. It also features obstacle detection, safety device monitoring, and error reporting for enhanced safety and reliability.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Aluminium Beam's Dimension: H 116 x 176 mm
  • Power Supply: 230 V~ / 50-60 Hz
  • Maximum Power: 100 watt
  • Power Supply for Accessories: 24 V=/0.5 A max
  • Maximum Speed (1 sliding door): 0.7 m/sec.
  • Maximum Speed (2 sliding door): 1.4 m/sec.
  • Maximum Load (1 sliding door): 120 kg MAX
  • Maximum Load (2 sliding door): 100 + 100 kg
  • Type of Use: S3 = 100%
  • Working Temperature: -15°C / +55°C
  • Protection Rating: IP20
  • Opening Cycles: Test 1,000,000 Cycles
  • Certification Compliance: EN61000, EN60335, EN16005

The system requires a 24VDC gear motor and can be equipped with various accessory devices, including external and recessed photocells, emergency push-buttons, passage detection radars, selectors/programmers, electric locks, and STOP devices with mechanical emergency opening. Electrical connections are made via terminal blocks CN1, CN3, CN4, CN5, CN6, CN7, and CN8. Safety devices, such as photocells and stop commands, can be connected with or without surveillance, in compliance with EN16005. The system supports both single and double safety device connections per input, with configurable test inputs (TEST1, TEST2).

Usage Features:

Upon initial switch-on or after parameter re-initialization, the system requires a self-learning procedure. This procedure involves three opening and three closing operations, during which the door saves its stroke and determines its weight class (C0-C5). Based on the weight class, all operating parameters are automatically set, though they can be manually edited later. The end-of-stroke slowdown spaces are also automatically adjusted and memorized. After self-learning, the wings will position at a distance of 10-15 mm from the opening mechanical stop.

The WK120 features a display that shows the installed firmware version, configured motor type, and operating mode. In case of inactivity, the display normally turns off. Special codes can be entered to access advanced settings, including motor type selection (A1 Type D EU or A2 Type K EXTRA EU), cyclic test mode, special display enabling, and resetting to default values.

The system includes a battery management function. If a battery is present, its voltage is monitored every 4 hours. In case of a faulty, disconnected, or flat battery, an E05 error (low battery) or E07 error (flat battery) is signaled, and door movements may be disabled. During a blackout, if a battery is present, the system continues operation with slightly slowed movement (E04 error – Blackout).

An interlock function can be enabled, allowing the door to open only if a specific input (INT.I) is not active. An emergency opening command (EMERGENCY PUSH-BUTTON) can be configured to open the door under any condition, including lock mode or active STOP command, and prevents re-closing while active.

Maintenance Features:

The manual emphasizes the importance of ordinary maintenance every 6 months or 500,000 cycles, to be carried out by professional and expert staff. Maintenance checks include:

  • Verifying the correct fixing of all screws of inner components.
  • Cleaning carriages and sliding rails.
  • Checking belt tension and the wear state of belt and carriage wheels.
  • Ensuring correct fastening of wings on carriages.
  • Checking the locking device and release cord operation.
  • Verifying the correct operation of command and safety devices.
  • Confirming that the safety sensor detection area complies with EN16005.
  • Checking wing operating forces comply with EN16005.
  • Checking the battery supply device and replacing the battery if necessary.

The safety functions of automation and safety devices must be checked at least once a year. All maintenance, replacement, repair, and updating operations must be recorded in a maintenance record, which must be available for inspection by authorized organizations. For repairs or product replacements, only original spare parts should be used. The device also includes error codes (E00-E20) displayed on the unit, indicating issues such as communication errors, obstacle detection, faulty encoder, power supply problems, and temperature warnings, aiding in troubleshooting and maintenance.
