8. MAINTENANCE
The AQUA-BASE unit must be maintained regularly in order to avoid the occurrence of defects which could alter its efficiency, its operating and its reliability. The
intervals between maintenance of the AQUA-BASE unit depend on the frequency and conditions of use.

82. SPARE PARTS FOR ONE YEAR
The spare parts set, for one year AQUA-BASE ref 752047, contains all the necessary parts for maintaining the AQUA-BASE desalination unit.

83. REPLACEMENT OF THE FILTER CARTRIDGE (Fig. 9)
- Open the filter by unscrewing the tightening nut using the filter spanner.
- Free the used cartridge by setting down the filter bowl.
- Replace the used cartridge with an genuine new one.
- Wipe and lightly oil the seal with food grease.
- Reset the filter after having checked the cartridge position.
- Screw the tightening nut with the filter spanner.
84. OIL LEVEL (Fig. 11)
- As the pump is placed horizontally, the oil level should be visible between the centre (red point) and
the top of the gauge.
- If necessary, adjust the level by using exclusively the original oil AQUA-BASE Ref. 752038.
- Check that the air-intake hole of the pump casing, placed in the centre of the filler cap, isn’t clogged.
85. HP PUMP OIL CHANGE (Fig. 11)
This should be carried out every year and each time that an anomaly is detected: strong persistent
emulsion (foam) visible via the gauge even after stopping of the unit, accidental introduction of water
in the pump casing, accidental and prolonged over speed of the pump,...
- Open the filling plug and check that the air-intake hole of the pump casing, placed in the centre of
the filler cap, isn’t clogged. Clear it if necessary.
- Loosen the oil change plug, take it out and wait until all the oil contained in the pump casing has
drained.
- Replace the oil change plug and fill up with oil using only original oil AQUA-BASE Ref. 752038, and
controlling the level with the gauge.
- Shut the HP pump filling hole.
86. CLEANING THE SALINITY CELL (Fig. 12)
The cleaning of the cell should be carried out every year and each time an anomaly has been caused
by bad operating: faulty salinity control, discharge anomaly,...
- Unscrew the cell lock nut.
- Take the cell out of its housing.
- Clean the cell electrodes with a brush under running water and, if necessary, using a domestic
detergent.
- Rinse the cell with running water and put it back into its housing.
- Screw the lock nut.
