OWNER’S MANUAL
FP-SERIES FOUNTAIN PUMPS
Introduction
The pumps are carefully inspected and tested to ensure both safety and operating performance.
However, failure to follow the instructions and warnings in this manual may result in pumps
damage and/or serious injury. Be sure to read and save this manual for future reference.
Important!
The plug and the socket must not come in to contact with the water
If their is a problem with electrical supply to the pump resulting in its failure to operate, ensure it is
checked and repaired if necessary by a qualied electrician. Ensure the electrical cable loops below the
electrical supply to form a “Drip Loop. The pump must be fully immersed in water when it is used, since dry
running can cause it to fail. Before the turning on the power ensure the pump is totally immersed in water.
Ensure that the electrical cable does not lie across pathways so that people do not trip on them.
Never leave the pump unattended during use if there are children nearby. Unplug the mains power when
the pump is not in use. Product is designed for use indoors or outdoors.
The cable cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged the device must be discarded.
IF THE PUMP CEASES TO FUNCTION, CHECK FOLLOWING:
• Check the switch/circuit breaker and try another socket in order to check that the pump has electricity
supply. N.B.: Always disconnect the power before handling the pump.
• Check that the hoses or the outow are not blocked. A garden hose can be used to ush out any algae.
• Check the lter inlet and clear possible dirt.
• Remove the pump inlet in order to come to the rotor. Check that it is not broken or blocked.
If the pump is maintained monthly the length of life will be extended.
N.B.: Ensure that a part of the cable hangs lower than the socket. This prevents water running down
the cable into the socket.
WINTER MONTHS
• Protect your pump against frost.
Take your pump from the water for the frost period.
• Clean the pump when necessary as previously described in the directions for use.
• Keep your pump, for example, in a bucket of water or a frost-free place so they can freeze or dry out.
LIMITED WARRANTY:

Overview

This document describes the AquaForte FP-Series Fountain Pumps, an owner's manual detailing their function, usage, maintenance, and safety precautions.

Function Description:

The AquaForte FP-Series Fountain Pumps are designed for use in water features, primarily for circulating water and creating fountain effects. They are intended for both indoor and outdoor use. The pump's primary function is to move water, and its performance can be adjusted by controlling the flow. The pump is designed to be fully immersed in water during operation to prevent damage from dry running.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: The pump requires a specific voltage and current, which should match the information on the pump's label.
  • Temperature Limit: The pump is designed to handle fresh water only, with a maximum temperature of 30°C. Pumping hot fluids beyond this limit is not permitted.
  • Safety Devices: A 30mA (or less) Residual Current Device (RCD) or a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) is required for direct connection to the mains supply, especially when the equipment is used in water, to ensure electrical safety.
  • Cable: The electrical cable is not replaceable. If the cable is damaged, the device must be discarded.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a 12-month limited warranty from the date of purchase, covering material or manufacturing defects. The warranty is voided by improper use, handling, or negligence.

Usage Features:

  • Immersion: The pump must be entirely immersed in water when in use. Operating the pump without full immersion can cause damage.
  • Flow Adjustment: Decreased flow can be achieved by adjusting a control on the side of the pump or by limiting the outflow.
  • Initial Setup: When first installed, air may be trapped in the pump and tubing. This can be dispersed by turning the pump on and off several times.
  • Cable Management: Ensure the electrical cable forms a "Drip Loop" below the electrical supply to prevent water from running down the cable into the socket. Also, ensure the cable does not lie across pathways to prevent tripping hazards.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always disconnect power before handling the pump.
    • Never lift the pump by its cable.
    • Do not pump flammable fluids.
    • Do not operate the pump without the supplied pump cage.
    • Never leave the pump unattended, especially if children are nearby.
    • Unplug the mains power when the pump is not in use.
    • The plug and socket must not come into contact with water.
    • If there is an electrical supply problem, it should be checked and repaired by a qualified electrician.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: Monthly maintenance, including checking for blockages and cleaning the filter inlet, can extend the pump's lifespan.
  • Cleaning Procedure:
    • Disconnect power before cleaning.
    • Remove the impellor housing and impellor.
    • Use clean water and a small brush to remove debris.
    • Never use harsh cleaners or chemical solutions, as they can cause permanent damage.
    • The axle is not removable.
  • Addressing Blockages: If the pump ceases to function, check for blockages in the hoses or outflow, and clear any algae using a garden hose. Check the filter inlet for dirt. Remove the pump inlet to access the rotor and check if it is broken or blocked.
  • Winter Storage:
    • Protect the pump against frost.
    • Remove the pump from the water during frost periods.
    • Clean the pump as described in the directions for use.
    • Store the pump in a bucket of water or a frost-free place to prevent it from freezing or drying out.
  • Electrical Supply Check: If the pump has no power, check the switch/circuit breaker and try another socket to ensure electricity supply.
  • Warranty Repairs: If the pump needs repair under warranty, it must be submitted with the original receipt. The guarantee covers the substitution of defective parts.

The manual emphasizes the importance of following instructions and warnings to prevent pump damage and serious injury. It also provides contact information for AquaForte.
