Changes in the source water composition, or mixing of raw and purified water, can also lead to this issue. Address each of these potential causes to restore soft water output.

Note that high ambient temperatures (38°C or higher) can also cause the display to go blank, though the controller's functionality remains.

Ensure the drain line isn't kinked, frozen, or clogged; straighten, thaw, or clean it as needed. Clean a clogged injector by removing the injector cap and cleaning the nozzle. Finally, a salt bridge in the salt compartment can block the process; break it up with a blunt object and add hot water, using only high-quality granular or tablet salt.
