IGNITION
Connect this wire to the Ignition switch or another circuit that is active only when the engine is
running. The ARCO Smart Regulator will only produce field current when this wire is senses positive
voltage from the ignition.
INPUT 1
Connect this wire with a switch to ground. DO NOT connect to positive voltage. The first feature
input that can be configured in the app.
ENABLE (ATC) (OPTIONAL)
Connect this wire to the BMS ATC (Allow to Charge) output relay, if available. This will allow the
BMS to shut down the regulator before a BMS disconnect.
OUTPUT 1 (LAMP) (OPTIONAL)
Usually connect this wire to a lamp to indicate that the ARCO Smart Regulator is on but not
charging, or to blink error codes. The feature output lamp that can be configured in the app. This
output acts like a switch between your load (light or fan) and the internal ground in the Smart
Regulator. It can switch uo to 48V at 1 Amo.
BAT SHUNT+
Connect this wire to the measuring terminal on your battery shunt, on the higher voltage terminal.
The shunt can be on the high or low side of battery voltage.
BAT SHUNT-
Connect this wire to the measuring terminal on your battery shunt, on the - lower voltage terminal.
The shunt can be on the high or low side of battery voltage.
ALT SHUNT+
Connect this wire to the measuring terminal on your alternator shunt, on the terminal closer to
the alternator.
ALT SHUNT-
Connect this wire to the measuring terminal on your alternator shunt, on the terminal farther from
the alternator.
BAT GND
Connect this wire to the negative / ground terminal of the battery or the ground bus bar. Provides
ground reference for the ARCO Smart Regulator.
BATV+
Connect this wire to the electronics power switch or to a standalone switch, for zero power
consumption in standby. Provides power to the ARCO Smart Regulator. It should be fused at 5
Amps. The regulator will stay powered so long as this is connected, measuring battery charge.
BAT TEMP(+/-)
A connector is provided to attach these to an ARCO temperature sensor cable. The ring lug on that
cable should be attached to your battery following the battery manufacturer's instructions.
BAT V- SENSE
Connect this wire as close as possible to the negative battery terminal. Measures the battery ground.
BAT V+ SENSE
Connect this wire as close as possible to the positive battery terminal. Measures the battery voltage.
