Usage Features:

The device is designed for safe and efficient operation, but users must adhere to strict safety guidelines. It is crucial to read the instruction manual carefully before first use and to familiarize oneself with the device. The Multitool is not suitable for extensive sawing work, tree felling, or cutting materials other than wood. It should not be used for cleaning sidewalks, as a shredder for tree and hedge sections, or for leveling ground elevations.

Before each start-up, users must check the tightness of the fuel system, the perfect condition and completeness of protective devices and cutting tools, the tight fit of all screw connections, and the smooth running of all moving parts.

Refueling requires a mixture of lead-free petrol and two-stroke engine oil in a 40:1 ratio. Pure petrol or fuel mixtures older than 90 days must not be used. Refueling should always be done outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms, with the engine switched off and cool, to prevent fire hazards. The fuel filler cap must be carefully opened to release excess pressure and then tightly closed after filling.

When operating, the petrol engine scythe should always be held by the handles with both hands, with the right hand on the main handle and the left hand on the auxiliary handle. The cutting tool will continue to rotate briefly after the throttle is released, so caution is advised. The engine should idle properly, ensuring the cutting tool does not rotate when the throttle is not depressed. For optimal cutting results, the machine should be operated at high speed, moving it from left to right and back again with an even, curved movement.

Special care is needed when working in difficult terrain or on slopes, cutting tall grass gradually to avoid overloading the machine. When using metal cutting tools, there is a risk of kickback if the tool hits solid obstacles. For wild growth and scrub, the hedge trimmer can be "dipped" from above to chop the material.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of the AREBOS Petrol Brush Cutter String Trimmer. Users must always wear protective gloves when working on or around cutting tools. Transport protection should be fitted to all cutting tools when not in use, during transport, or storage. Before any maintenance or cleaning, the engine must be switched off, and the spark plug connector removed. The unit should not be sprayed with water or cleaned with high-pressure cleaners; instead, a cloth or hand brush should be used. Plastic parts can be cleaned with a damp cloth, avoiding cleaning agents, solvents, or sharp objects. Handles should be kept free of oil and grease, and ventilation slots and cooling fins for the cylinder must be kept clear of dust and dirt to prevent overheating.

Specific Maintenance Tasks:

  • Cutting Guard: Wet grass and weeds can wrap around the drive axle under the cutting guard, leading to motor overheating. These must be removed.
  • Cutting Tools: Before starting work, after refueling, or after any impact, check cutting tools for tight fit, cracks, and damage. Damaged or blunt tools must be replaced immediately.
  • Gear Lubrication: Weekly inspection of gear lubrication is recommended.
  • Fastening Screws: Accessible fastening screws should be tightened as needed to prevent excessive wear and damage.
  • Spark Plug: The spark plug and the distance between electrodes (0.6 - 0.7 mm) should be checked regularly. The spark plug connector should be removed, and the spark plug unscrewed using the supplied wrench. Excessive wear or heavy incrustation necessitates replacement with a spark plug of the same type. Heavy incrustation can be caused by too much oil in the petrol mixture, poor oil quality, outdated petrol mixture, or a clogged air filter. The spark plug should be turned completely into the thread by hand, avoiding tilting, and then tightened with the spark plug wrench (12-15 Nm if using a torque wrench). The spark plug should be replaced every 100 hours or once a year, or if the insulation body is damaged, electrodes are eroded, or it is heavily soiled/oily.
  • Air Filter: Dirty air filters reduce engine performance. The air filter element must never be removed while the engine is running. Clean the air filter regularly (approximately every eight operating hours, more often in dusty conditions) to prevent start-up problems, loss of performance, and high fuel consumption. To clean, move the choke lever upwards, loosen the air filter cover, remove the sponge filter element, and wash it in lukewarm soapy water. Do not blow out dirt particles. Let it dry well before reinserting. Damaged air filters must be replaced immediately.
  • Fuel Filter: Check the fuel filter for obstructions. Open the fuel filler cap and pull the fuel filter out with a wire hook. For slight soiling, pull the filter off the fuel line and clean it with cleaning petrol. For heavy soiling, replace the fuel filter.
  • Carburettor (Idle Speed): The carburettor is factory set, but adjustments may be needed if the engine idles too high, runs irregularly, lacks acceleration, or in response to weather conditions. Incorrect adjustment can cause serious engine damage, so a specialist workshop should perform any carburettor adjustments.

Scope of Delivery:
