What to do if Armstrong Flo-Direct AFD-1000 shows Flame Safety Fault?
    • H
      hmurphyAug 10, 2025
If the Armstrong Water Heater shows a Flame Safety Fault, first, try pressing the reset button twice on the Veri-Flame controller inside the control panel, ensuring the button is out. If the fault persists, inspect the spark rod wiring and connection for any breaks, arcing, or carbon fouling. Also, check the UV scanner for dirt and its reaction to the flame. Moreover, examine the air flow switch for disconnection, plugged sensor tube, or any defects, and check blower overloads for electric current setting, adjusting or resetting as necessary. For recurring faults, verify the 3-phase wiring and if the issue continues, check the blower motor coil impedance. Finally, check the adjustment of the POC switch and ensure the gas valve operates correctly.

What to do if Armstrong Flo-Direct AFD-1000 Water Heater shows High Gas Pressure?
    • D
      Debra CollinsAug 14, 2025
If your Armstrong Water Heater displays a High Gas Pressure fault, begin by pressing the red reset button on the high gas pressure switch located on the fuel train. If the issue persists, check if the regulator pressure is set too high and, if so, turn the regulator adjustment screw counter-clockwise to reduce the pressure. If neither of these steps resolves the problem, the pressure regulator spring or the pressure regulator itself may be defective and require replacement.

What to do if Armstrong Flo-Direct AFD-1000 shows Low Gas Pressure?
    • S
      Susan JenningsAug 19, 2025
If the Armstrong Water Heater indicates a Low Gas Pressure fault, start by pressing the red reset button on the low gas pressure switch located on the fuel train. If the problem continues, make sure all upstream fuel valves are open. If the issue still persists, the pressure regulator spring or the pressure regulator itself may be defective and require replacement.

How to troubleshoot Actuator Fault in Armstrong Water Heater?
    • H
      Heather WhiteAug 26, 2025
If the Armstrong Water Heater displays an Actuator Fault, try turning the "AUTO/OFF/MANUAL" switch to "OFF" and then back to "AUTO" (or "MANUAL" if you are using that mode). Also, make sure that the switch on the burner arm is in contact and closed. If you have a heater with a modulating burner that is not in "MANUAL" state at start-up, press "ACTUATOR RESET" on the control panel, if available, or unplug and replug the "d-out" relay in the control panel.

      Hailey JenkinsAug 30, 2025
If the Armstrong Water Heater displays a Water Pressure Fault, begin by opening the flow control valve. If the issue persists, the shut-off valve may be defective and require repair or replacement. Additionally, check the filters and piping in the inlet line for any obstructions. Finally, ensure that the system pressure is at the correct level.

What to do if Armstrong Water Heater shows Tank Full Fault?
    • L
      lisajonesSep 3, 2025
If the Armstrong Water Heater shows a Tank Full Fault because the pump isn't keeping up with water production, first, try readjusting the transfer pump throttling valve. If that doesn't solve the problem, check the transfer pump and/or bypass to see if they are inoperable, and repair or replace them as needed. Also, confirm that all downstream valves are fully open.
