Why is the Armstrong Water Heater producing extremely hot water?
- SscottnormanAug 11, 2025
If the Armstrong Water Heater is producing extremely hot water, it might be due to several reasons. The steam pressure could be too high, so decrease the steam pressure to between 2 and 15 psig. Another cause might be that recirculated water is continually diverting through the Flo-Rite-Temp; in this case, check the diverting valve for a stuck or failed thermal capsule. Also, the steam could be superheated, so ensure it is piped to saturated steam. Lastly, the mixing valve might not be properly adjusted; adjust the unit according to the instructions.
