ARTURIA – PROPHET V - MANUAL
48
1 LFO (low frequency oscillator)
1 polyphonic modulation section (Poly MOD) dedicated to high frequency
modulation (FM)
1 monophonic modulation section (WHEEL MOD) dedicated to the LFO
5.1.1 OSCILLATORS
There are two oscillators.
The oscillator controls the basic frequencies and timbres of the Prophet 5 with the frequency
settings, choice of wave-form, and the pulse width associated to the square wave-form. These
settings are made either with various knobs (static settings) or by the means of the modulation
sections. These can be activated in the WHEEL-MOD (monophonic modulation by the LFO) or the
POLY MOD (polyphonic modulation by the frequency of oscillator B or the output of the filter
envelope).
The oscillators can be tuned and edited separately. They supply up to 2 wave forms on
oscillator A and 3 on oscillator B. These wave-forms can be used simultaneously. Whether
tuned separately or when using several mixed wave-forms, the two oscillators allow you to
quickly obtain large variety of sounds.
Two Oscillators

octaves

PW : knob which sets the pulse width of the square signal
SYNC : button which activates the synchronization of the A and B oscillators
5.1.1.2 Oscillator B
FREQ : tuning knob for semitones on approximately two octaves
FINE : fine tuning knob on approximately 1 semitone
SHAPE : selection buttons of three wave-forms:
