Overview

The Ascent Mighty Multi® is a versatile, multi-task ladder system designed for various applications, offering 24 different positions to accommodate diverse needs. It is constructed from aluminum with riveted and welded rungs, ensuring durability and strength. The ladder is available in three models: AMT013, AMT017, and AMT022, each offering different height and position capabilities.

Function Description:

The Mighty Multi® is composed of two primary components: a fixed INNER SECTION with two permanently mounted Hinge Locks, and two movable OUTER SECTIONS with four J-Locks. This design allows the ladder to be configured into five main types:

  1. A-Frame Ladder (Stepladder): This configuration allows for independent standing, similar to a traditional stepladder. The height can be adjusted using the J-Locks.
  2. Extension Ladder: This configuration extends the ladder to a greater height, suitable for reaching higher areas. The ladder should be positioned at a 75-degree angle to the vertical plane of support for stability.
  3. Trestle (Trestle-and-Plank Scaffolding System): This system involves separating the INNER SECTION and using it as one trestle, while the two OUTER SECTIONS are locked together to form a second trestle. This allows for the creation of a scaffolding platform when combined with a plank (not included).
  4. 90-Degree Ladder: This configuration is designed for use against a secure wall, with one section at a reduced height. The shorter side should always be placed against the wall, and the ladder must be on a flat, level surface.
  5. Staircase Ladder: This configuration allows the ladder to be safely used on stairways, with the downhill section adjusted to match the steps, ensuring level rungs for climbing.

Usage Features:

  • Hinge Locks: These two locks are located on the top of the INNER SECTION. Pushing inwards on the Hinge Lock unlocks it, allowing for adjustment. When the ladder is in the desired position (Storage, A-Frame, or Extension), the Hinge Lock automatically seats itself into the locked position. It is crucial to visually verify and physically test that the ladder is locked before climbing. Do not attempt to unlock if there is pressure or weight on it; jiggle the ladder slightly to relieve pressure.
  • J-Locks: There are four J-Locks located on the movable OUTER SECTIONS. These are used to adjust the height of the ladder. When adjusting, lock and unlock only one J-Lock at a time, guiding the OUTER SECTION with your free hand. Each J-Lock must be fully seated within the ladder rung to ensure it is in the locked position. For Extension Ladder configuration, it is recommended to lay the ladder flat on the ground for adjustment.
  • Safety Markings: The rungs are designed to be climbed from one side only, and this is clearly marked on the ladder for user safety.
  • Climbing Guidelines: Always face the ladder while on it, maintain a good grip on the rails, and keep your body centered between the rails. Do not stand above the third rung from the top. Always maintain three points of contact with the ladder.
  • Electrical Safety: Use extreme caution around electricity. Aluminum is highly conductive and should never come into contact with electrical devices or wiring.
  • Moving Mechanisms: Keep clothing and body parts clear of all moving mechanisms, including Hinge Locks and J-Locks, to prevent pinching. Also, keep body parts away from rungs when telescoping the OUTER SECTION over the INNER SECTION.

Maintenance Features:

  • Pre-Use Inspection: Inspect the ladder before each use to ensure it is free of dirt and debris.
  • Lubrication: Occasionally apply a light lubricant to the hinges to ensure smooth and dependable operation over time.
  • Storage: The Mighty Multi can be stored compactly. To do this, unlock the J-Locks, lower the INNER SECTION to the ground, and lock the J-Locks. Then, unlock the Hinge Lock and fold the ladder to the fully closed position. The J-Locks should then lock, making the ladder ready for storage. Never store the Mighty Multi outdoors; it should be stored indoors to prevent rust and oxidation.
  • Replacement Parts: Ascent Products LLC offers various replacement parts, including Outer Section Feet, Inner Section Feet, Rung Caps, Hinge Rebuild Kits, Rubber Hinge Knobs, and J-Lock Assemblies. Refer to page 4 of the manual for the location of these parts on the ladder.

Warranty:

The Mighty Multi® comes with a 3-Year Limited Warranty from Ascent Products, LLC, covering defects in material or workmanship, provided the product is used as described in the manual and in accordance with safety labels. The warranty does not cover failures due to abuse, accidental damage, or unauthorized repairs. Defective products meeting warranty conditions can be exchanged at a participating retailer (with proof of purchase) or returned, freight prepaid, to Ascent Products, LLC for repair or replacement at their discretion.
