What to do if my Ashley AGDV8 pilot lights but flame goes out when control knob is released?
    • W
      William WhiteAug 18, 2025
If the pilot light goes out when you release the control knob on your Ashley Furnace, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure the control knob is fully pressed in and held for at least 30 seconds after the pilot lights. Check that the manual shutoff valve is fully open. Inspect the thermocouple connection at the control valve and hand tighten it until it's snug, then give it an additional ¼ turn. Low gas pressure or a dirty pilot can also cause this issue; consider contacting your local gas company or cleaning the pilot assembly. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the thermocouple or control valve may be damaged and require replacement.

Why is there a gas odor even when the Ashley Furnace control knob is in OFF position?
    • R
      Ruben LunaAug 21, 2025
If you smell gas when your Ashley Furnace control knob is in the OFF position, it could be due to a gas leak or a defective control valve. If you suspect a gas leak, locate and correct all leaks. If there are no leaks, the control valve may be defective and require replacement.

What to do if my Ashley Furnace burner does not light after pilot is lit?
    • K
      Kelly CampbellAug 23, 2025
If the burner on your Ashley Furnace doesn't light after the pilot is lit, it could be due to a clogged or undersized burner orifice. Try cleaning the burner orifice or replacing it. It's also possible that the inlet gas pressure is too low, in which case you should contact your local Gas Company.

      Lee MckinneyAug 26, 2025

Why is there no spark at pilot when I press the ignitor button on my Ashley AGDV8?
    • A
      andradewhitneyAug 28, 2025
If there's no spark at the pilot when you press the ignitor button on your Ashley Furnace, several things could be wrong. The ignitor electrode might be broken, not connected to the ignitor cable, or the ignitor cable could be pinched, wet, or broken. The piezo ignitor could also be bad. Try replacing the ignitor electrode, reconnecting or freeing the ignitor cable, keeping it dry, or replacing the ignitor cable or piezo ignitor.

What to do if there is spark at pilot but no ignition in my Ashley AGDV8?
    • A
      Ashley LoganSep 2, 2025
If your Ashley Furnace has a spark at the pilot but no ignition, ensure the gas supply is turned on and the manual shutoff valve is open. Make sure the control knob is in the PILOT position and pressed in. If there's air in the gas lines, continue holding down the control knob and repeat the igniting operation until the air is removed. The pilot might also be clogged, requiring you to clean the pilot orifice or replace the pilot assembly. In some cases, the gas regulator setting may not be correct, necessitating replacement of the gas regulator.

Why does my Ashley AGDV8 Furnace produce a whistling noise when the burner is lit?
    • C
      chadyoungSep 5, 2025
If your Ashley Furnace makes a whistling noise when the burner is lit, it could be due to turning the control knob to the HI position when the burner is cold. Try turning the control knob to the LO position and letting it warm up for a minute. Air in the gas line or a dirty burner orifice could also cause this. Operate the burner until air is removed from the line, and consider having the gas line checked. You might also need to clean or replace the burner orifice.

Why does my Ashley AGDV8 have a delayed ignition of burner?
    • R
      Rebecca SaundersSep 7, 2025
A delayed ignition of the burner in your Ashley Furnace could be due to low manifold pressure or a clogged burner or pilot orifice. Contact your local Gas Company to check the manifold pressure. You can also try cleaning or replacing the burner or pilot orifice.

Why does my Ashley AGDV8 Furnace have a yellow flame during burner combustion?
    • E
      Erika JohnsonSep 10, 2025
A yellow flame during burner combustion in your Ashley Furnace can be caused by a blocked inlet pipe, incorrect pipe connections, or a defective gas regulator. Remove any blockage in the inlet pipe and ensure pipes are connected according to the installation instructions. If the issue persists, replace the gas regulator.
