Before we tell you how to customize the preset programs,
you need to review what these programs are. The table
below lists the four preset programs and the pre-
programmed settings for each. To select a program,
simply press one of the program buttons then press Start.

customize the preset programs to perfectly fit your
laundry needs. You needn’t worry about making an error
because you can easily restore the original program
settings.

NOTES:
(1) You can temporarily adjust the temperature and spin speed settings. (See “Temporary Program
Changes” below.)
(2) The spin speeds in the preset programs are the maximum speed settings for these specific wash
programs (except Super Quick).
(3) Model W640 has a maximum spin speed of 1400 rpm.
WARNING!
Some fabrics may not be able to withstand extremely hot temperatures.
Please refer to the “Recommended Wash Temperatures” section on page 6.
Remember, you can temporarily adjust the temperature
setting and spin speed for a preset program. (See
“Making Temporary Program Changes” on your Quick
Start Guide.)
In addition to the preset programs listed above, you
can customize the preset buttons to use any of the
programs listed in the table below.
This table also lists the pre-programmed settings for
each program. For example, if you select Light wash on

You can make temporary changes to the wash
temperature and/or spin speed on the preset
programs. Simply press the button for the preset
program you want to use then follow the instructions to
the right. The settings will revert to normal at the end of
the program.
Temperature – Press until the desired temperature
displays in the LED window. If you also want to change
the spin speed, read the following paragraph,
otherwise, press START.
Spin Speed – Press until the desired spin speed
displays in the LED window then press START.

the program menu, it is automatically programmed to
wash at 105° F using a normal wash action, rinse three
times then do a short spin, then rinse two more times,
do a long spin and drain. You can modify some of these
settings. See “Program Options” on page 12.
