What to do if the spark igniter will not light pilot of Astria Fireplaces Indoor Fireplace?

  If the spark igniter won't light the pilot, first check for a spark at the electrode and pilot. If there's no spark and the electrode wire is properly connected, replace the igniter. If there is a spark, use a match to light the pilot. If it lights, the improper gas mixture caused the bad lighting and a longer purge period is recommended. If the pilot still won't light, check the gap at the electrode and pilot – it should be 1/8”. If the gap measures 1/8”, replace the pilot. Also check the inlet gas pressure. It should be within the limits as marked on the rating plate. Finally, the pilot orifice may be plugged, so clean or replace it.

  If the pilot won't stay lit, it could be due to a defective pilot generator (thermocouple). Check the pilot flame to ensure it impinges on the thermocouple. Clean and/or adjust the pilot for maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple. Also, ensure that the connection between the valve and thermocouple are tight and secure.

A white film may develop on the glass during the first few fires as part of the burn-in process, so clean the glass after each use until the film disappears.   A poor flame or blue flame could be because the door seal is not properly aligned, causing gaps and air leaks. Remove and realign the door so the gasket seal is fully engaged around the door frame.
