Alert tones and lights
Screen icons
Battery status - battery is charging (animated display).
Battery status - low battery (flashing); place handset in
telephone base or charger to recharge.
Speakerphone - the speakerphone is in use.
Ringer off - the handset ringer is off.
New voicemail - you have new voicemail from your
telephone service provider.
ANS ON
Answering system on - the answering system is turned on
to answer calls.
Message - new message in the built-in answering system.

New caller ID log or new message - new or missed calls,
or new message (during message playback).
MUTE
MUTE - the handset microphone is off.
AUDIO ASSIST - The AUDIO ASSIST
®
feature is turned on.
Message counter - number of message playing/total
number of messages.
Handset alert tones
1 short beep Tone of each key press, if key tone is turned on.
1 long beep Indication to begin recording a message, memo or announcement.
2 short beeps
You press qCID or pDIR on a cordless handset when the volume is
already at its highest or lowest setting.

Call waiting tone or error tone.
Confirmation tone
(3 rising tones)
The system has completed the command successfully.
4 beeps The other party has ended your intercom call.

The handset has gone out of range from the base during a call.
4 short beeps Low battery warning.
Telephone base tones
Beeps every 10 seconds Message alert.
Fast ringer tone
You are setting the ringer volume by pressing the q/VOL/p keys
on the telephone base.
Long beep Indicates the start of message recording during call screening or
the end of a message playback session.
4 short beeps Registration failure tone.
