California Energy Commission battery charging
testing instructions
This telephone is set up to comply with the energy-conserving standards right out of the
box. These instructions are intended for California Energy Commission (CEC) compliance
testing only. When the CEC battery charging testing mode is activated, all telephone
functions, except handset battery charging, will be disabled.
When rst purchased and properly installed for charging (see the Battery installation
and charging section on page 11), put the cordless handset in the handset charger to
charge. The CEC battery charging testing mode is activated while charging.
If you have registered the cordless handset to the DAL75111/DAL75121/DAL75211/
DAL75221/DAL75311/DAL75321/DAL75411/DAL75421/GL2113-1/GL2113-2/
GL2113-3/GL2113-4/GL2113-11/GL2113-21/GL2113-31/GL2113-41 base, below are the
testing instructions.
To activate the CEC battery charging testing mode:
1. Unplug the telephone base power adapter from the power outlet. Make sure all
handsets are inserted with charged batteries before proceeding.
2. While you press and hold
FIND HS, plug the telephone base power adapter back to
the power outlet.
3. Aer about 20 seconds, when the IN USE light starts ashing, release FIND HS and
then press it again within two seconds. You hear a conrmation tone. The IN USE light
turns o and all handsets display To register HS... and ... see user manual alternately.
Allow up to one minute for the process to complete.
If the phone fails to enter this mode, repeat Step 1 through Step 3.
The telephone base will be powered up as normal if you fail to press FIND HS
within two seconds in Step 3.
To deactivate the CEC battery charging testing mode:
1. Unplug the telephone base power adapter from the power outlet, then plug it back in.
The telephone base is powered up as normal.
2. Register your handsets back to the telephone base. See pages 13-14 for handset
registration instructions.
