Now
you
have learned a secret
about
the cursor.
The
cursor
is
not
really a little white
box.
.
It
is
just
the inverse
of
whatever
is
underneath it.
Nor-
mally the cursor
is
on
top
of
a blank character,
so
the cursor appears
to
be a
white
square.
Press
the
CONTROL key and
the
LEFT
ARROW
key several times, until the cursor
is
on
top
of
the
Kin
MAKE.

Now
press the D
key.
Presto! MAKE becomes
MADE, and the cursor moves one space
to
the
right.

Press
the CONTROL key and the RIGHT
ARROW
key
to
go
back
to
the end
of
the sen-
tence.

If
you
try
to
move the cursor back
to
the
end
of
the line
by
using the
SPACEBAR,
you
will
find
yourself erasing characters. Remember this: the
ARROW keys
only
move the cursor; the
SPACEBAR
puts blank characters on
the
screen.
Take
some time
now
to
experiment
with
the
ARROW keys.
Use the CONTROL key
with
the RIGHT ARROW
key
to
move
the
cursor
off
the
right
edge
of
the
screen.
It
will
wrap
around,
but
it
will
stay on
the same line.
