Removing the wiper blade
.. Move the wipers to the service position

.. Fold the windshield wiper arm away from
the glass.
.. On the upper end of the wiper arm at the
corrugation, squeeze the plast ic retainer to-
gether on both sides in the direction of the
arrow

.. Rotate the wiper blade in the direct ion of

.. Swing the wipe r in the opposite direct ion to
the arrow @ onto the wiper arm.
.. Squeeze the corrugation on the wiper until
you hear it click in the wiper arm.
.. Fold the wiper arm back onto the wind-
shield .
.. Switch the ignition on and move the wiper
lever down briefly . The wiper will move back
to the park posit ion.
The front wiper blades measure left side
23 .20 in. (S90 mm) and rig ht side 18.SO in.
(470 mm) in length,
Clean your wiper blades regularly with a wind-
shield washer solution to prevent streaking . If
the blades are very dirty, for example with in-
sects, carefully clean the blades with a sponge
or a soft brush.
If the wiper blades begin to streak the wind-
shield, this could be caused by residue left on
the windshield by automat ic car washes.
Fill the windsh ield washer container with a
special solution available at your author ized
Audi dealer to remove the residue.
Be sure to inspect the condition of your wiper
blades regularly. For safety reasons, replace
your wiper blades once or twice a year if nee-
essary. See your authorized Audi dealer for re-
placement blades .

- Clean your wiper blades regularly with a
windshield washer solution to prevent
streaking. If the wiper blades are very
dirty, fo r example with insects, carefully
clean the wiper blades wit h a sponge or a

- For your safety, you should replace the
wiper blades once or twice a year. See
your authorized Audi dealer for replace-
ment blades.

wise, you risk damaging the paint on t he
hood or the windshield wi per mot or.
- You should not move your vehicle or
press t he winds hield wiper lever when
the wipe r arms are folded away from the
windshield. The windsh ield wipers would
move back into their original position
and could damage the hood and wind-
shield.
- To help prevent damage to the wiper sys-
tem, always loosen blades which are fro-
zen to the windshield before operating
wipers.
- To help prevent damage to wiper blades,
do not use gasoline, kerosene, paint
thinner, or other solvents on or near the
wiper blades.
- To help prevent damage to the wiper
arms or other components, do not at-
tempt to move t he wipe rs by hand.

- Commercial hot waxes applied by auto-
matic car washes affect the cleanability
of the glass surface.
- You can also use the service position, for
example, if you want to protect the
windshield from icing by using a cover. ..,_
